Programmes Manager at Human and Environmental Development Agenda


Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA Resources Centre) is a non-governmental organization and non-partisan human rights and development league. The Centre conducts research, policy advocacy, training, as well as citizens’ awareness and mobilization on core human development issues, including agriculture, food security, climate change, human rights, public sector accountability, and electoral reform processes.

Job Title: Programmes Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Role

  • We seek a highly dedicated, experienced and motivated individual for the position of Programmes Manager in our reputable organization.
  • The programmes manager will work directly with the Programmes Director to develop and expand the organisation's programmes portfolio across the two focus areas to support the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • The Manager is also required to lead the implementation of programmes, develop budgets and operating plans, write funding proposals and provide overall direction to team members.
  • The post holder must be able to make effective decisions, collaborate and partner with key stakeholders, and deliver value for money.

Responsibilities

  • To Prioritize, plan and coordinate project development activities according to the organization's requirements.
  • Prepare project proposals and develop the project plan.
  • Consistent brainstorming and collaboration with management and other consultants for new project ideas and strategies.
  • Assist in developing intellectual resources for the organisation's programs and projects
  • Provide editorial support to the organisation's publications and releases.
  • Represent the organisation at various stakeholder events, workshops, meetings, and conferences.
  • Constant meetings with management to clearly understand organisations' needs and expectations.
  • Analyze and resolve project issues.
  • Assist in researching and organizing the organisation's historical data used in the project development function.
  • Gathering of organisation's research information for upcoming projects.
  • Prepare concise and accurate reports for management.
  • Engage with management to develop projects that meet the organization and partner's objectives.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field (Masters degree will be an added advantage)
  • Programme Management Certification
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working within an NGO environment
  • Experience working with international donor agencies
  • Experience working on development projects in Nigeria.
