Programme Funding Manager at Stakeholder Democracy Network (SDN)


Stakeholder Democracy Network (SDN) is a non-governmental organisation established in 2004 to support those affected by the extractives industry and weak governance. SDN works with communities and engages with governments, companies, and other key stakeholders to ensure the promotion and protection of human rights, including the right to a healthy environment. SDN has a team in the UK that supports the main office in Port Harcourt, in Rivers State, Nigeria. SDN has four main areas of work: protection of the environment; promotion of good governance; fostering of sustainable livelihoods; and support of peace and security.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Programme Funding Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • To lead and support the identification and design of new, high-impact projects
  • To lead the development of high-quality funding proposals, both to respond to donor funding calls and to proactively pitch to donors
  • To work with the Management team to build donor relationships, identify and track funding opportunities aligned with SDN’s strategic priorities, and coordinate SDN’s fundraising pipeline processes

Duties

  • To lead and support the identification and design of new, high-impact projects
  • Manage and lead the project identification and design processes and activities in line with SDN’s Project Identification and Design manual, working with the relevant Senior Project Officer for the thematic focus of that project
  • Lead partner identification and engagement, working with relevant team members, and managing their participation in the development of new projects
  • Work with Senior Project Officers and the finance team to lead the development of budgets
  • Work with project teams and monitoring and evaluation staff to ensure lessons learned from past and existing projects inform new projects
  • Ensure senior management review processes are planned and managed promptly.
  • Develop plans for the design of new projects and project manage these plans, including coordinating the work of project design team members and identifying and coordinating inputs from other parts of the organisation (e.g. communications, monitoring and evaluation)
  • Act as organisational custodian of the Project Identification and Design manual and its guidance, including training new programme team members on its content, supporting team members to follow this process, identifying opportunities to improve the manual and guidance and working with Programme Management to agree and implement these changes

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess M.Sc Degrees with 5 - 10 years relevant wok experience.
