Programme Coordinator at Internet4Good Africa
Internet4Good Africa is a youth-led initiative that is shaping a healthy narrative about internet use for young Africans.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Programme Coordinator
Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Remote but physical availability for project-related events/field work is required).
Duration: 6 months contract with a possibility of extension
Puropse
- To enhance the quality of I4Gs programs and to ensure that these programs/projects are planned, implemented, monitored, and evaluated to the highest possible standards.
- Through close collaboration with colleagues, partners and others identify areas for programme growth and sustainability.
Key Accountabilities
Working with Partners (20%):
- Identify and cultivate new partnerships while leveraging existing relationships with local and international partners to achieve the organization’s strategic priorities and ensure its sustainability.
- Develop and support longer-term relationships with these partners that go beyond the duration of individual projects.
- Establish partnership agreements with partners where appropriate.
- Promote shared learning and collaboration between partners by facilitating partner networks and meetings.
Project Management (40%):
- Be the technical lead at country office and take the lead in all programmatic areas
- Manage all aspects of the project cycle including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Ensure that all project documentation and reports are made available in a timely and accessible way.
- Apply change, risk, and resource management
- Assume responsibility for the program’s people and vendors
- Assess program performance and aim to maximize value for money
- Prepare reports for program directors
- Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects
- Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
- Coordinate cross-project activities
Financial Management & Fundraising (20%):
- Develop and control deadlines, budgets, and activities
- Monitor expenditure of project financial resources and liaise with the finance officer where necessary.
- Follow up with other partners on any actions arising from audits carried out by the finance officer or by external auditors.
Effective Communication (20%):
- Develop and lead high-quality communications and advocacy campaigns that align to our brand and increase participant engagement in the programmes.
- Be proactive in the documentation of case studies, interesting news stories, learnings and key achievements etc.
- Represent I4G at various events and stakeholders' forum
Job Holder Entry Requirements
- B.Sc / BA in Management or a relevant field; M.Sc/M.A is a plus but not required.
- Proven experience (at least 3 years) as a Program Manager or other leadership position. Volunteer experience is recognized. If you have led a community-focused project (Eg: in school) or coordinated a team of youth volunteers, you might be what we are looking for.
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable taking ownership of big projects, while managing uncertainty or competing priorities.
- Self-reflective and aligned with Internet4Good’s values.
- Interpersonal and intercultural sensitivity
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel); working knowledge of program/project management software (eg: Basecamp, MS Project, etc.) and remote working tools (Google Workspace, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc) is a strong advantage
- Strong impact reporting and data storytelling skills. Experience preparing concise and visually-appealing reports, proposals, and content using tools like Powerpoint, Canva, SurveyMonkey, Visme etc.
- Permission to live and work in Nigeria.
