Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Summary

  • The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for all BFFWH projects.
  • This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in sourcing, purchasing, and managing suppliers within the healthcare or non-profit sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire procurement process, from sourcing suppliers to delivery of goods and services.  
  • Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with project objectives.  
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.  
  • Be ready to travel to various project sites and supplier locations as required to oversee procurement activities and ensure compliance.  
  • Prepare and review contracts, purchase orders, and agreements with suppliers.  
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services.  
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including budgets, inventories, and supplier information.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.  
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the healthcare or NGO sector.  
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.  

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.  
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.  
  • Proficiency in Hausa language is an added advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.  
  • Experience in budget management and cost control.
