We are a market leader in designing, formulating and producing oilfield chemicals for production and completions applications. With a focus on delivering differentiated chemical technologies to drive performance, we support customers and projects in 5 deep-water assets in Nigeria. To deepen our operation in the oil and gas production and engineering services and acquire future businesses, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria.

Job Title: Procurement Manager

Location: Lagos

The Opportunity

  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing all procurement activities of the company from the requisition to the delivery of goods, works and services.
  • The role incumbent will handle evaluation of suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high value.
  • The role requires good knowledge of market research, solid analytical skills, and negotiation prowess.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the company's procurement policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs, specificiations, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/supplier.
  • Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance on a continuous basis.
  • Control and monitor expenses against approved budgets.
  • Reconcile and resolve order discrepancies with supplies.
  • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Review, compare and analyze all vendors/suppliers viz-a-viz products and services to be supplied.
  • Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
  • Estimate and establish cost parameters, budgets, and reports for purchases.
  • Negotiate contracts terms, agreement, and pricing, in order to obtain the best deal.
  • Track orders, follow up with suppliers and ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain inventories and accurate records of purchases, pricing, deliveries, invoices, as well as other important data.

What We Expect

  • Degree in Business Management, Accounting, or related field, from a recognized university.
  • Relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • Professional certification in Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Logistics is

Required:

  • Good Computing Skills.
  • Project management/planning skills.
  • Good listener and ability to deal with confidential matters.
  • Initiative and creative ability.
  • Sound decision and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in similar role.
  • Budget implementation and control.
