Job Title: Pricing & Revenue Manager
Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • As the Revenue Manager, you are expected to manage overall revenue optimisation with the increased scale of the Company at MalaikAir.
  • As a Pricing & Revenue Manager, you will be responsible to review and examine Revenue Management related data concerning passenger booking velocity, inventory availability, pricing, group request, take decisions affecting Pricing, Demand, Flight Inventory, Groups or Alliances and Global Pricing Products.

Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy:

  • Responsible for flight level revenue optimization by properly valuing passengers and forecasting future demand levels
  • Analyze market demand, competition pricing, and historical data to set optimal fares.
  • Define, implement and continuously develop strategies on all routes
  • Analyze demand trends and forecasts and adjust steering accordingly

Seat inventory management:

  • Analysis of booking trend and provide management insights on sales strategies
  • Analyze competitors and develop an understanding of the different customer behaviors on your markets
  • Communicate market performance results to senior management
  • Analyze market demand, competitor pricing, and historical data to set optimal fares.
  • Control seat availability by fare class to balance supply and demand.
  • Evaluate performance and post-departure trends to identify and leverage future opportunities while improving the revenue potential for each market
  • Drive a dynamic test agenda to challenge and evaluate different revenue generating hypotheses
  • Monitor events on your market that affects demand and willingness to pay (festivals, major events etc
  • Performing frequent ad-hoc analyses related to the assigned markets and assist with capacity decision making for future months

Distribution Channels:

  • Collaborate with distribution partners (online travel agencies, global distribution systems) to optimize sales channels.
  • Manage inventory allocations for each channel.

Revenue Forecasting:

  • Adjust pricing and inventory based on demand fluctuations.
  • Use statistical models and historical data to forecast future demand and revenue.

Ancillary Revenue:

  • Develop strategies to increase ancillary revenue (e.g., baggage fees, seat upgrades).
  • Optimize pricing for ancillary services.
  • Identify trends and recommend adjustments.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and network planning teams.
  • Align pricing and revenue strategies with overall business goals.
  • Collaborate with Planning and other teams to ensure alignment on market level strategies
  • Collaborate with other units such as Network, Pricing, Sales, and Marketing to align strategies and identify new business opportunities
  • Manage the team to monitor and update flight level demand through the analysis of historical and future booking trends, the pricing environment, industry capacity trends, competitive landscape, and other factors
  • Reporting and Analysis
  • Generate regular reports on revenue performance, market share, and yield.

Requirements

  • Min. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalent. (Masters is preferable)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in revenue management either inventory, demand or pricing related.
  • Advanced Analytical ability, and ability to use Microsoft Office software. Should be able to independently manipulate data sources to create actionable analysis and/or reports.
  • Ability to train and develop subordinates’ skills and foster teamwork among team members.
  • Experience working in an airline practicing point of sale and origin & destination controls.
  • Knowledge of airline pricing and revenue management systems and tools such as PROS, Amadeus, airline tariffs, APTCO or SITA fate filing, Pricing systems or Group Revenue Management Systems.
