Preparatory Plant Supervisor at West African Soy Industries Limited (WASIL)


West African Soy Industries Limited (WASIL) operates one of the largest specialized oils and fats processing complexes in Africa. The manufacturing facility is located in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, with raw materials sourced from farmers in Kaduna, Katsina, Niger and other states across Nigeria.

The Company is active in the Soy value chain through its out-grower farming activities by providing high quality agri-inputs to farmers and procuring farm produce from them through off-take arrangements. We educate the farmers on Yield Enhancement Techniques (YET) to improve their crop yield, and train women on best practices in Shea collection and primary processing.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Preparatory Plant Supervisor

Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • Monitoring and controlling the plant processes through computer and manual controlling.
  • Maintain all process parameter within given range. 
  • Responsible to operate several process steps and has equipment for post cleaning, grading, destoning, cracking, cooking, dehulling and expanding subject to process requirement and product quality.
  • Responsible to operate Preparatory & SEP process in a safe, efficient manner. Trouble shoot equipment and product to meet plant production standards.
  • Ensure plant to be run on its rated production capacity on minimum losses and require quality parameter.
  • Ensure data are used or processed for the purpose set for such data and ensure absolute confidentiality while processing or using personal data. Get the consent of the data subject before collecting, processing and using data.
  • Adhere to the requirements of FSSC, Feed Safety, GMP and QMS as it relates to my job function.
  • Responsible to utilise a computerized system to control most processes. 
  • Ensure proper line-up for unit production
  • Safely collect sample to proactively identify product quality issue.
  • Effectively communicates field condition to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • BSc / HND in Engineering or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience of same field in operation and maintenance.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be flexible and open to changing priorities and challenges.
  • Problem solving skill
  • Good knowledge of all equipment’s operation.
  • Good knowledge of computer
  • Extensive knowledge of branding principles and tactics through multimedia including the Web.
  • Good Analytical and Computer skill
