Job Title: Planning Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description

  • We are an Mamless execution of all project deliverables with Project teams. prepare all Project reporting to client and company management as may be required from time to time and demonstrate leadership and capacity on all company work fronts.

Specific Activities

  • Review and analyse CONTRACTORS Scheduling and planning documents and procedures.
  • Monitor progress and control Project activities.
  • Identify potential delays, analyse and issue proposed corrective actions as required
  • Prepare the Project Planning documents
  • Prepare the weekly report
  • Elaborate monthly progress report
  • Participate in gathering and recording lessons learned for the project.
  • Supporting PMT and Cost Stewards with ongoing project schedule analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Develop and document Control Schedules (annual and multi-year), and ensuring that these products reflect the approved project design/execution scope.
  • Analyze schedule trends, develop and review schedule forecasts.
  • Review and, where appropriate, endorse schedule and progress baselines and forecast prepared by contractors.
  • Analyze schedule and progress trends developed by contractor.
  • Review and endorse progress measures reported by the contractor.
  • Liaise with cost controller to define progress measurement
  • File the planning related documents according the document filing system
  • Provide overall project schedule, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings with the contractor and PMT to ensure common understanding of schedule, and progress measurement requirements.
  • Review schedule bases of contractor`s Change Proposals - review and endorse Change Orders - monitor, analyze and report contractor invoices.
  • Assist sub-project management in developing/reviewing schedule corrective actions and recovery plans, and making sure needed actions/plans are implemented
  • Monitor and report on schedule implications of changes.
  • Participate in contract commercial bid evaluations (as required).
  • Participate in developing Contract Control Schedules and Milestones.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from PMT related to Controls/Reporting.
  • Monitoring and appraising the performance of Contractor`s Site(s) in the areas of progress and schedule control.
  • Examine and evaluate the Contractor`s schedule control organization, plans, performance and procedures.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor in Engineering or B. Tech in an Engineering course.
  • Planning experience within the Engineering and Construction industry.
  • Must have certificate in Project Management and Primavera 6 Engineering, Procurement, and Construction experience, and experience in area similar to sub-project preferred.
  • Experience in managing relevant contracts (Lump Sum vs. Reimbursable).
  • Minimum of 5 years of project controls experience with at least 3 years as a Planning Engineer with emphasis on schedule control achievements over cost control.
