Greenville LNG Plant is in Rumuji near Port-Harcourt and has customer locations in Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Enugu, Sokoto, Aba and other cities nationwide.

Job Title: Piping Engineer

Location: Kaduna

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of experience in the oil and gas sector, specifically in LNG, LCNG, CNG or related projects, demonstrating strong technical expertise in piping engineering design, analysis, and project coordination.

About the job
Design and Engineering:

  • Develop, review, and optimize piping layouts, isometric drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and 3D models.
  • Conduct stress analysis for piping systems using CAESAR II or similar tools to ensure compliance with design criteria and safety standards.
  • Ensure all designs meet industry standards, including ASME, API, and company-specific standards and specifications or vendor standard.

Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure effective project execution.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for piping engineering tasks, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.

Construction Support:

  • Provide technical support to construction teams, including on-site troubleshooting and problem-solving during the installation phase.
  • Conduct site visits to verify installations and ensure that field modifications align with design intentions.

Safety and Risk Management:

  • Identify potential safety hazards and implement mitigation strategies in design and execution.
  • Participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies and risk assessments related to piping systems.

Material Selection and Specifications:

  • Select appropriate materials for pipes, fittings, valves, and supports based on project specifications, fluid characteristics, and environmental conditions.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for piping components.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure piping designs are compliant with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing, and certification of piping components and installations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of piping engineering experience in oil and gas projects, with Oil & Gas experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, API, and other relevant codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant, PDMS) and piping analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II).

Must have skills:

  • ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8 and API codes
  • HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies
  • P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
  • 3D Modeling
  • Stress analysis for piping systems using CAESAR II.
