NLNG Ship Management Limited, a subsidiary of Nigeria LNG Limited seeks to engage the following personnel for immediate employment in the following positions:



Job Title: Senior Planning and Manning Officer
REF: NSML/2014/001
Location: NSML Head Office - Port Harcourt

Responsibilities

  • The appointee will maximize the utilization of NSML seafarer, to ensure statutory safe manning levels ond relief planning, and overall co-ordination of logistics for implementing all Crew Chanqes. 
  • Investigate, recommend and implement strategies for improved pedonnonce and increased Officers' availability for sea service.
  • Undertake ship and college visits to Nigerian Officers on board/colleges and respond to issues/concerns raised by Officers/Code's, while counselling them with view to creating a harmonious working environment
  • Support Manager Planning and Manning (NSM) in the provision of effective oversight manning activities for third party Manning Agents controctsd by BGT Fleet Monagers for provision of Nigerinn Rotings Manpower services for BGT Ships.
  • Relieves NSM in his absence and represents Company in appropriate meetings in furtherance of Shipboard Personnel and crewing matters as directed.
  • Prepare Management Report on Utilization of Nigerian Officers and Cadets.
  • Plan shipboard ossiqnments for assigned Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) ships and ensure all stakeholders' interests are met whilst ensuring that the vessels are adequately manned in line with flag stote requirements.
  • Implement Crew Changes and ensure adherence to, uniform interpretation and application of opproved policies and procedures for seoiorers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of NSML policies and procedures and provision of professional advice and guidance to appropriate line managers and seafarers on shipboard personnel related issues.
Requirements
  • Possess a University degree in Humanities or Social Sciences, obtained at a minimum of Second Closs Upper (2.1)
  • Be good team player wilh excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Not be more than 35 years as at 31st December, 2014.
  • Have six to eight years post graduate experience, out of which three years should have been spent in a senior core HR function in a reputoble organization. Experience in the
  • Maritime Industry will be an added advantoqe.
  • Be computer literale with knowiedge of Microsoft office suite

Job Title: Industrial Relations Officer
(REF: NSM/2014/003)
Location: NSML Head Office - Port Horcourt

Responsibilities
  • The appointee will monitor and implement NSML's Seafarers COS, Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Nigerian ratings, in line with Internaitonal Labour Organization (ILO), International Transport Federation (ITF) and NIMASA rules/requirements for Maritime Labour.
  • He/she will maintain harmonious employee relationships amongst the Shipboard Officers and Ratings by liaising with the Fleet managers, Manning Agencies, appropriate Unions and Employers Associations, Regulatory bodies to ensure continuous availability of shipboard personnel for sea service. 
  • Assist in evaluating the performance of Cadets, investigate issues/prepare disciplinary/grievances case files for Senior Management approval and implement decisions for improved performances.
  • Undertake Ship and College visits to Nigerian Officers on board and respond to issues/concerns raised by Officers/Cadets with view to creating a harmonious working environment.
  • Enquire into and gather Industry/Market intelligence on Shipping/Maritime matters globally and recommend mitigating measures for coping with changes to Management consideration.
  • Advice shipboard staff of Home News, Mail broadcasts and Fleet Circulars and act generally as communication focal person for them.
  • Monitor the provision oi Nigerian Raling Manpower Services for BCT ships and participates in the collective bargaining process of the Rc!ings with relevont authorities.
  • Initiate the review of Shipboard Officers Conditions of Service periodically in line with CBA and current reaiifies emergent from international survey of Conditions of Service.
  • Coordinote Company representation at social functions of NSML Fleet Personnel (Cadets and Officers), home ond hospital welfare visits and follow up on welrare issuesfor seafarers ond facilitate conroct between seoiorers away on assignments and their respective families.
  • Assist in promoting hormonious relationships between the Company and the Industrial unions, NIMASA, ITF; ILO, and ensure Personnel and Company's representation with appropriate unions/bodies.
Requirements
  • Possess a University degree in Humanities or Social Sciences, obtained at a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1)
  • Five to eight years cognate experience in HR practice, three years of which must have been spent as a Senior Officer of core Personnel! HR function in a reputable organization.
  • Maritime sector and Industrial relations experience will be an added advantage.
  • Must be a goad team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Not be more than 35 years as at 31st December 2014.
