Job Title: Nigeria Operations Manager

Role Summary
The operations manager is either directly responsible for implementing the tasks below or overseeing service providers / staff that perform these functions:

  • Lead all administrative processes and oversee the general day-to-day procedures within the office
  • Liaise with landlord/managing agents for TBI rented properties to resolve maintenance, security or H&S issues that may arise
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  • Ensure that security and other risks are spotted and managed adequately, and emergency protocols are in place to maximise the safety and well-being of the country team
  • Support the Country Director with all in-country security checks and briefing and support with security duties required in-country and support all security tasks required by the regional operations and London security team
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and apply new and innovative approaches to administrative and operational processes
  • Build and contribute own contacts and networks to support effective operations of the country office
  • Develop, implement, review and ensure adherence to all operational policies and procedures
  • Oversee maintenance of office space and equipment and ensure availability of stationery and other office consumables
  • Support new starter requirements, including IT set up, business card request, pre-arrival welcome information and liaise with relevant teams to coordinate tasks such as the shipment of IT equipment, due diligence checks, signing of contracts, and other relevant documentation
  • Lead all office financial transactions and documentation and manage cash and payments in-country and through London office
  • Act as the main contact for key suppliers and service providers to the country team and manage all supplier due diligence, contracts, such as office space, fleet management services, utilities, etc.
  • Provide support for all TBI-related visits, including pre-arrival security, logistics and visa support as required
  • Ensure conferencing capability for staff is maintained in office spaces in collaboration with the IT Team

Requirements
We are looking for an outstanding individual with high levels of enthusiasm, drive, resilience, a can-do attitude, and ability to consistently achieve results in a fast-paced environment. The requirements that should be met are:

  • Experience in administrative or operational work; experience in project administrative and financial management or related work
  • An acute attention to detail with excellent communication skills
  • Experience of identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks
  • Ability to set and maintain a safe and secure culture and professional environment
  • Strong sense of ethics, discretion and perseverance required
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based systems
  • Ability to work independently and take proactive decisions
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain contacts with regulatory bodies, suppliers and partners related to TBI’s work
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with a problem-solving approach
  • Excellent time-management and prioritisation skills
