Job Title: Associate Information Management Officer

Context, Duties and Responsibilities
- The Associate Information Management Officer reports to the Senior Protection Officer and is responsible for assisting in the production and dissemination of information on the population of concern, including but not limited to Protection and Programme information.
- The incumbent operationalizes data standards developed at the central level in field operations, trains field staff, compiles data and analyses information from all populations of concern.
- S/he supports the Programme Team and UNHCR’s implementing partners in the choice of indicators for monitoring to be included in sub-agreements as well as the Protection Team in operationalizing protection monitoring systems.
The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation and operationalization of the country/operation-specific Information Management strategy.
- Operationalize country-specific common data standards and promote them with partners.
- Compile, aggregate and analyse data and information elements required to produce standardized information products and implement data/information collection plans for baseline and context-specific data.
- Support the operation in the analysis of processed data and information and perform data quality and consistency control.
- Train field staff on the use of data collection forms, how to enter data and how to analyse it. Also, train field staff on the protection of sensitive data, including both hardcopies and electronic data.
- Facilitate the analysis of cross-border information between relevant countries.
- Support and leverage geographic data for map production and use in geographic information systems (GIS).
- Share UNHCR data with partner agencies and maintain Portal population figures regularly and in-line with agreed time lines.
- Provide technical Information Management support to Needs Assessment processes, specifically in data collection, processing/collation and analysis.
- Perform other duties as required.
Essential Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree (equivalent of a BA/BS) in Information Technology, Demography, Statistics, Social Sciences or any related area plus minimum 3 years of previous work experience relevant to the function. Graduate degree (equivalent of a Master's) plus 2 years or Doctorate degree (equivalent of a PhD) plus 1 year of previous relevant work experience may also be accepted.
- Knowledge of the UN system and the humanitarian community.
- Experience in the context of partnership building and consensual decision-making.
- Proven skills to analyse statistical information.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, functions, etc.).
- Ability to compile and holistically analyse diverse datasets.
- Experience with handling confidential data and demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of English and very good knowledge of local language working.
Desirable Qualifications & Competencies:
- Successful participation in the Operational Data management Learning Programme is desirable.
- Experience in web design and software development is an asset.
- Experience with relevant software such as ArcGIS, MapInfo, SPSS, EpiInfo6, SQL Server, and/or proGres is desirable.
- Experience with HTML, PHP, ASP and/or Java is an asset.
- Knowledge of protection-related guidelines, standards and indicators.
Technical Competencies:
- MS Excel (Essential), ArcGIS (Essential), Adobe Illustrator( essential),
- Database Software (understanding of relational data theory and database structure, ability to use. software and create queries and reports) SQL Server, MS Access.
- Mapping (basic understanding of map making process (Essential).
- Data visualization (basic understanding of trend graphic design) (Essential).
- Ability to translate planning specifications to technical briefs for data capture and analysis, and vice versa.
- Ability to compile and holistically analyse diverse datasets.

Context, Duties and Responsibilities
The Security Associate manages and supports activities pertaining to staff security. The incumbent will be supervised by a Senior Officer (Senior Field Security Adviser on technical aspects, and the Head of Office generally) who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance. The incumbent maintains regular contact on a working level on routine issues with other UNHCR staff members, UN agencies, NGOs, implementing partners in the area to facilitate the operation. The duty of the incumbent is to support and monitor the management of security issues.
Under the supervision of the Head of Field office with technical support from the Senior Field Security Advisor, the following are the core duties and responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to the supervisor in evaluating the level of risk and assessing the existing security measures for the UNHCR staff, operations, premises, partners and persons of concern.
- onduct regular security assessment missions to the field in coordination with UNDSS/other agencies; assist the supervisor during field missions to gather information and analyse the security situation.
- Be aware of security protocols and procedures in place, especially those comprising Security Risk Management; check for compliance and advise management on any deficiencies.
- Monitor the physical security of UNHCR premises and reports on deficiencies/ requirements for the guard force.
- Assist in efforts to ensure the physical protection and security of refugees and other persons of concern.
- Provide support during implementation of security-related projects.
- Assist in the monitoring, updating and reporting of security-related events.
- Assist in the processing of administrative security issues.
- Perform radio room duties by assisting in the tracking of staff on road mission, conduct periodic radio checks in the absence of radio operator at the duty station
- Supervise and monitor security Guards at UNHCR premises
- Attend to security incidents/accidents that involves UNHCR staff and report accordingly
- Assist the Senior Field Security Advisor in the preparation and update of Staff tracking, Security Warden System and security plans (fire, evacuation, medical etc.) for UNHCR staff and/or at any other location where determined.
- Conduct Security briefing for new Staff as required
- Work in close collaboration with UNHCR security colleagues in the field outside Cross River.
- Any other responsibilities/functions deemed necessary or as delegated by the Head of office and/or the Senior Field Security Advisor
Essential Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education with relevant training and experience in security and safety issues. Military or Police background preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years (6 with advanced training/certificate) of previous relevant job experience.
- Excellent knowledge of English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language or local language.
- Ability to work in a team under pressure with minimum supervision; good analytic and training skills, organized and good sense of initiative.
- Be professional, discrete, organized, flexible and available at short notice.
- Good communication skills (written and oral).
- Good knowledge of areas within the field office territory.
Desirale Qualifications & Competencies:
- Good computer skills - (MS Word; MS Excel; MS PPT).
- Excellent knowledge of local security apparatus.
- Sensitive to and good knowledge of the local culture.
- Knowledge of another relevant UN or local languages.

Context, Duties and Responsibilities
- The Senior Supply Assistant provides support supply to all local activities pertaining to the supply chain function including planning, sourcing, transport, shipping, customs clearance and warehousing in the purview of the Maiduguri Sub-Office.
- The incumbent is supervised by the Supply Officer who provides regular guidance.
- S/he works independently on routine tasks while follows instructions of the supervisor or more complex issues.
- The incumbent maintains regular contact on a working level on routine issues with other UNHCR offices, UN agencies, NGOs, government partners and commercial contractors in the area to facilitate the operation.
- The duty of the incumbent is to support the management of material resources within the geographical area covered by the Sub-Office while exercising efficiency in the use of those resources.
The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Apply UNHCR's procurement strategy when planning for purchase of important commodities and services.
Operational Support:
- Initiate custom clearance of consignments, draft exemption requests, and liaise with local agent.
- Support warehouse management, and assist with planning and goods deliveries, and provide information on the status of requests and the availability of items in the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records on logistical activities and provide reports and updates periodically, and on request.
Infrastructure Support:
- Examine Purchase Requests to ensure conformity and liaise with requesters.
- Prepare quotation requests and tenders, produce bid-tabulations from tenders and prepare Purchase orders for approval.
- Dispatch approved Purchase Orders, and follow-up with the delivery of ordered commodities and services.
- Provide information on all procurement activities within area of responsibility.
- Assist in managing Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) effectively according to UNHCR rules and regulation including registration and marking of new PPE, Physical verification of PPE, preparation of agreements, preparation of disposal forms (including submissions to LAMB/AMB), and assistance with disposal of PPE.
- Produce standard asset management reports and other asset information, periodically and when requested.
Business Support:
- Maintain accurate data in all relevant business systems. Compile statistical information on supply chain related matters that will assist in decision making.
- Any other responsibility deemed necessary or as delegated by the Supervisor in order to meet the level of service required by the organisation.
Essential Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of the Secondary School education with post-secondary training/certificate in Business Administration, Logistics, Warehousing or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of previous relevant job experience.
- Fluency in English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language and/or local language.
Desirable Qualifications & Competencies:
- Completion of UNHCR learning programmes or specific training relevant to functions of the position such as the Supply Chain Learning Programme (SCLP).
- Computer skills (MS Office and/or PeopleSoft/MSRP).
- Experience in procurement
