Responsibilities
- Jumia Pay is a new and free online payment service that enables you to send payments online securely, instantly, and cost-effectively.
In particular you will:
- Design and implementation of web-based services that are high performing and scalable
- Expand our micro-services architecture
- Evolve your technical capabilities to the next level while using state-of-the-art technologies
- Work with a multidisciplinary team (Developers; DevOps, QA Engineers, Product Owners) oriented to continuous delivery
- Construct and verify (unit test) software components to meet design specifications
- Take ownership for your code to be qualitatively high and you will support your colleagues in code reviews
- Respect and follow the code of conduct, general rules and principles of the company
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of web engineering experience at strong software companies
- Solid knowledge in software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures and Object Oriented Design
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Experience with web-oriented technologies (Java/J2EE, GoLang, NodeJS)
- Strong experience with ORM (Hibernate) and SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of product development best practices, continuous delivery and testing (Version control, Unit-Testing or Continuous integration and delivery)
- Passion to analyze and solve complex technical problems
- Aware of Performance and Security topics on web development
- Experience with Agile Methodology

Job Title: Account Manager - Jumia Food
Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full Time
Responsibilities
- Jumia Food is an online food ordering site that allows consumers to conveniently order meals of their choice from their preferred restaurants, and have them delivered straight to their home / office.
In particular, you will:
- Leverage prospecting skills and relationships to build partnerships with franchisees of the most important restaurant chains
- Drive expansion of existing clients as well as generating new business at prospect chains
- Manage contract negotiations aimed at establishing the foundation of a strong working relationship with our restaurant partners, including sustainable economics for both parties
- Clearly communicate the value of Jumia Food and its newest products to prospects
- Work closely with the Marketing Department with marketing requests
- Negotiate attractive deals/combos with partner restaurants for the benefit of our customers (ie.during annual Black Friday campaign)
- Educating new vendors on the importance of Jumia Food’s operational procedures and standards,ensuring they are always respected
- Equipping and training new vendors on Jumia Food’s order processing and management tools (through the management of the Vendor Service Associate)
- Ensuring that Jumia Food is paid its due commission on time (through management of the Cash Collection Officer)
- Monitoring vendor performance and implementing operational improvement plans for restaurants, where necessary
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience with at least 2 year of experience in a client facing role that includes new business acquisition.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA would be a plus).
- Ability to have a 'sixth sense' when it comes to partnerships and that leads you to effortlessly navigating multiple partner engagements.
- Ability to think strategically and analyze restaurant needs to both unlock opportunities and creatively problem-solver
- An intuition for people. You're spending the majority of the time working with various internal and external teams, building and really cultivating new relationships with potential and existing partners and within all parts of an organization
- Eagerness to get into the details, ability to go above and beyond.
