Job Title: Head of Distribution and Partnerships

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • We are looking to recruit a results-driven Head of Distribution and Partnerships to join the startups support unit and work with exciting companies across our accelerator programmes. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting high growth technology companies, from across the continent, on their distribution challenges/goals as well as engage in and unlock partnerships that will be of benefit to the growth of these companies.  

This role will be perfect for someone with a growth mindset and the natural capacity for building relationships:

  • Work day-to-day with entrepreneurs across the continent to build global sustainable businesses with laser focus on customer acquisition and distribution strategies.
  • Provide advisory to startups on their partnerships and acquisition strategy.
  • Make introductions and connect portfolio companies to individuals and organizations that will be of value to the growth of the companies.
  • Manage existing partnerships with corporate executives within our networks well as develop new relationships, with a focus on unlocking key growth opportunities for portfolio companies across our programmes.
  • Evaluate and pursue opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and collaboration on an ongoing basis within the ecosystem
  • Devise creative ways to keep existing and new partners engaged
  • Provide regular progress reports on startups.

Qualifications

  • Preferably with 5+years of working experience in Business development/ strategic partnerships management or any other related line of work.
  • Educational degree in any technology related field required
  • Strong networking skills to actively be involved with startups, venture capitals, and corporates & Concern for Impact.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and research skills
  • Proven “people skills” in terms of developing and motivating team members.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft suite
  • Excellent communication in English (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

Job Title: Incubation Associate, PAULESI

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • We are looking to recruit a detail-oriented and results-driven Incubation Management associate to provide support to incubation and acceleration activities at the PAULESI Incubation center of excellence.

Project Management:

  • Support in the designing and implementation of entrepreneurship related programmes at the center.
  • Support the programme manager to ensure alignment between the different stakeholders of the programmes including startups, industry experts and facilitators through clear and consistent communication
  • Manage logistics for the programmes

Startup Support:

  • Work with incubatees to build, test and acquire users/customers
  • Write monthly reports on progress and achieved milestones of startups. 
  • Manage applications to different programmes, as well as communication with applicants

Research:

  • Support the incubation manager in Sourcing, application evaluation, due diligence and selection committee briefing to aid selection of startups into our programmes
  • Conduct industry / sector research to identify opportunities, partners, and industry experts for our programmes

Communication:

  • Conduct check-ins with startups being supported to understand their challenges and needs and connect them to relevant resources 
  • Create content specific to the work being done at the center

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Graduation (background in IT/ Computer Science / Finance / Commerce is preferred)
  • Minimum of 2+ experience working in startups or with an incubator/accelerator is a bonus.
  • Overall understanding of the digital technology and product landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively cultivate, build and maintain strong working relationships with start-ups, entrepreneurs and other necessary stakeholders.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to speak in front of an audience as and when deemed necessary
  • Experience of running multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent skills in the entire Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc.)
  • Execution skill set - including a focus on data-driven decision making, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to drive rapid “learn & implement” iterations.
  • Empathy - using skills that allow to determine what is most important to their target audience, and then working to deliver on an organizational promise.
