We are recruiting to fill the position of:     Job Title: Logistics Assistant Location: Dutse, Jigawa Job Type: Full Time Job Summary

  • The position is based in Dutse, Jigawa State and will be supervised by the Logistics Officer.
  • The Logistics assistant performs logistics activities which includes but are not limited to procurement and fleet management.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Consolidates the fuel consumption.
  • Check and consolidate the vehicle log sheet (movement tracking sheet) on daily/monthly bases.
  • Supervise the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment in the vehicle (Radio’s, tracking device etc.)
  • Update the list of equipment in the vehicle on monthly basis.
  • Keep physical files on each vehicle with Logbook copies, maintenance and repair costs and fuel consumption.
  • Plan and request weekly car hire movements, liaise with suppliers and ensure compliance of rental cars according to ACTION AGAINST HUNGER safety and security standards
  • Reports any major shortage of vehicles and plan the allocation accordingly.
  • Facilitate the transportation of goods from the base to the field site and develop movement plan.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain or any other equivalent course.
  • At least 1 year working experience in logistics or procurement.
  • Strong computer skills including all Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in the International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) and Humanitarian context.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • High level of flexibility and self-motivation.

  • The Position is based in Maiduguri, Borno State and will be report to the Area project Manager.
  • The Community Mobilization Officer is responsible for direct implementation of community mobilization activity in the assigned local government area.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Develop a community mobilization and sensitization strategy document for effective program delivery..
  • Provide training, orientation to the target communities regarding, the organization's project, CRM, health and hygiene, FCS, HDDS, Nutrition and other mobilization activities part of the project.
  • Provide guideline and training to field assistants for effective community mobilization at the LGA level.
  • Contribute to detailed planning and implementation of mobilization on gardening FSL, WASH and Nutrition.
  • Manage community mobilization field teams within the sector to ensure compliance, technical quality and coherence in all AAH mobilization, training and IEC material Building.
  • Tracking and report community mobilization activities.
  • Ensure that all program-related data and information shared are correct, updated, organized, properly documented and accessible to the supervisor.
  • Facilitate and support systematic monitoring and evaluation of CM activities.
  • Contribute to development of donor reports and biweekly report activity progress reports for the project team.
  • External representation of the organization at the LGA level and at state level when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Community Health Extension, Political Science, Public Health other related qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in humanitarian contexts, with at least 2 years in conflict/insecure contexts.
  • Experience in food security and livelihood programming, Nutrition and community engagement.
  • Capacity to supervise and coach team members.
  • Fluency in English and local languages (Hausa, Kanuri and Fulani).

  • The position is based in Nangere, Yobe state and report to the Public Health Promotion (PHP) Officer
  • The Community Mobilization Assistant is responsible for supervising the community mobilization activities under the WASH component
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Site Identification for emergency Latrine construction.
  • Site Identification for VIP Latrine construction at facilities.
  • Conduct context assessment and developing materials for Hygiene promotion.
  • Communities Identification, Assessments and selection for Hygiene Promotion.
  • Conducting direct sensitization meeting with community leaders, village head, and care givers in Communities within the LGA.
  • Implement community approach through regular contract and exchange and facilitating Community level planning and decision making processes.
  • Assist in conducting household visits to identify gaps in term Hygiene, sanitation and use of water.
  • Assist in preparing training modules for the promotion of hygiene in the communities.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of a National Diploma in Health Education or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant working experience in Hygiene promotion and community mobilization within the humanitarian sector.
  • Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions.
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Be proficient in English and Hausa.

  • The position is based in Borno State and report to the Area Project Manager.
  • The Sector Manager will play a key role in implementing the PROTECT IDP response in Borno, North-Eastern Nigeria with focus on cash based transfer component of the FFP project.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement multi-sectoral cash transfer activities in collaboration with the Area Project Manager.
  • Identify program implementation modalities that enhance partnership & coordination with government official and local communities, internal integration within sectors and other programs (Nutrition, WASH, FSL, NFIs, etc.) with CBT components within the mission.
  • Ensure program quality and adherence to program objectives, including respect of Action Against Hunger technical guidelines, systems, and established deadlines.
  • Support program budget design and updates; oversee budget monitoring and cash projections and budget Forecast.
  • Contribute to organizational and sector-wide learning through good quality documentation of lessons learned, best practices, evaluations etc. for the Cash component of the program
  • Assist the Area project manager in preparing Cash internal and external reports for Action against Hunger and the community, including case studies and success stories.
  • Manage field teams within cash sub sector to ensure compliance, technical quality and coherence in all cash interventions.
  • Track and report technical cash based activities.
  • Participate in regular internal and external coordination for the program at LGA and State level when required.
Position Requirements
  • Degree in Food Security and Livelihood related studies e.g. agro-economy, agriculture and at least first level CaLP (Cash Learning Program).
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in humanitarian contexts in a similar role.
  • Capacity to be adaptable and flexible.
  • Previous experience with cash transfer programming.
  • Experience implementing programming on behalf of donor (i.e. USAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA) funded activities.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa.

  • The Finance Assistant will be based in Potiskum, Yobe State and will be directly supervised by the Base Finance Officer.
  • The Finance Assistant performs a wide range of financial duties associated with daily office operations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Make payment of advances, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain cash box and cash books.
  • Process payments, maintain cost reports and manage invoices.
  • Track and monitor archiving documents.
  • Record budget allocations and accounting codes.
  • Secure the cash box and maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ensure proper control of supporting documents for payments and financial reports.
Position Requirements
  • Degree in Finance and other similar field with minimum of 1 year experience in a finance and administration-related role.
  • Experience in working with the International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) and humanitarian context preferably.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Food interpersonal skills (communication, able to negotiate, influence, give effective feedback and be a team player), time management and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage stress effectively, juggle competing priorities and manage team needs.
