Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant at the Big Smile Foundation


The Big Smile Foundation is a women/youth led non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance across the BAY states within Northeast Nigeria. We are committed to improving the everyday life of women and children across Nigeria through working closely with individuals, families, communities, and government through strategic partnership. TBSF and funding from UKAID is implementing a Mine Action project with vulnerable and at-risk communities in konduga, kukawa and kaga in line with this TBSF IS seeking to recruit M&E assistant to conduct basic data analysis and visualization to create a better understanding of the affected population.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract (Short time)

Responsibilities
Functions / Day to day activities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of M&E plans and tools.
  • Perform tasks assigned by the supervisor
  • Collect and enter data into databases and spreadsheets.
  • Conduct basic data analysis and visualization.
  • Assist in supporting stakeholder engagement, including community outreach and awareness-raising activities.
  • Assist in monitoring project activities, including tracking progress against indicators and targets.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Assist in the dissemination of M&E findings to stakeholders.
  • Perform other M&E-related tasks as assigned.

Location:

  • Maiduguri, Borno State with frequent travel to Local Government Areas where the project will be implemented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Public Health).
  • At least 1 year of experience in M&E or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working laptop.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable skills:

  • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action in a timely manner
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and either Kanuri or Hausa.
  • IT Skills: in regard to the report writing
  • Organizational Competence: Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships and maintaining effective communication with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
  • Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage and captivate an audience.
