Job Title:  National Technology Officer

 
Purpose:

The mission of the National Technology Officer (NTO) and the global NTO community is to help our Public Sector customers address their challenges, fully realize their opportunities, and pursue their national priorities. The NTO role is responsible for aligning with Public Sector customers to understand and address their needs, and driving internal and external transformation as the company and customers transition to the cloud. The NTO is responsible for positioning Microsoft as the technology company of choice, ensuring a favorable policy environment for our Public Sector services, differentiating Microsoft with policy, business model and business practices, and expanding addressable markets and driving Public Sector business development.

Key Responsabilities:

The NTO serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the subsidiary and is responsible for developing and owning the execution of a technology policy engagement plan that addresses existing and emergent technology policy issues critical to Microsoft’s transformation. The NTO is the technology and tech strategy advisor for the subsidiary’s leadership, and also engage with Engineering Groups in Redmond to drive strategic customer needs, future differentiators and services requirements. The NTO also serves as the Chief Transformation Officer accelerating Public Sector transformation to the cloud, as well as driving internal transformation and readiness. The NTO will focus on building trust and becoming the trusted advisor for government officials. The NTO is responsible for external outreach and engagement with technology policy elites and influencers, leading academics and government decision makers in their country, with the objective of enabling the government’s vision and creating a technology policy environment that supports the subsidiary's growth objectives.

Experiences Required:
  • CIO, ITDM, senior technologist, or senior government official experienced in working with the Public Sector or regulated industries such as financial services, health, or education.​
  • Proven C-level or VP-level executive experienced in driving transformation, challenging industry leaders, and driving results​
  • Experienced and credible storyteller and communicator who can simplify technology and policy issues and lead conversations with high-level company executives and government officials. ​
  • Strategic thinking including ability to analyze industry trends and competitive landscape​
  • Strong collaborator and community lead who can develop to the growth of a global community of technology and sales professionals​
  • IT industry sales executive or technology policy professional with a strong technical background in cloud services and extensive experience with privacy, security, compliance and technology policy issues​
Education:
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Sciences (minimum)​
  • Masters in Engineering or Computer Science and/or PhD preferred
