Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Sango - Ota, Ogun

Job Description

  • Assist the Supervisor with job timing, work scheduling, managing responsive maintenance as well as make recommendations to the Supervisor in relation to work practices, which could improve quality, increase productivity and reduce costs
  • Use of portable device(s) to manage work orders
  • Setting up and adjusting machine tools and equipment
  • Constructing and assembling mechanical systems
  • Strictly adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of the appropriate protective clothing
  • Carrying out the construction of structural components according to the plan on blueprints
  • Examining structural systems with attention to the tools to use in line with the codes
  • Overseeing structural systems and ensuring that they are maintained regularly.
  • Completion and administration of maintenance inspection records
  • Maintenance on all types of pumps and blowers
  • Work in accordance with quality plans and work procedures
  • Fault-finding on rotating equipment, as well as auxiliary systems (e.g., mechanical seal systems)
  • Be conversant with the technical parameters governing pump maintenance regarding, mechanical seal installation, bearing clearances, gaskets, rotors, couplings, alignment and protection devices
  • Be conversant with statutory requirements on plant process tanks and safety devices
  • Working with the use of workshop equipment such as milling machines and lathes

Requirements: Qualifications/Skills

  • Trade Test, OND, HND & Degree in any related fields
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant industrial experience in the position applying for.
  • Candidates’ residence within Ota in Ogun state will be highly considered.
  • High level of confidentially and integrity; very good interpersonal relationship and diplomatic skills
  • Proven team spirit, result oriented with ability to work in a stressful environment
  • Very good in networking, decision making and problem solving skills in a multicultural organisation.
  • Proven experience working in the manufacturing and Construction industry including ability to operate complex related equipment.
  • Excellent customer service attitude
  • Competence in the use of company standard software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Technical drawings and troubleshooting equipment to proffer solutions
  • Planning, organizing and demonstrated ability to analyze facts and implement concrete solutions
