Job Title: Material Planner

Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Role
What your job role is:

  • To schedule and forecast the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies.
  • To ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity.
  • To be able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements while maintaining the strong relationships both internally and externally needed to ensure that the supply of materials meets requirements.

Job Description
Following are your job descriptions:

  • You will schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
  • You will plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit.
  • You will assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
  • You will utilize any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.
  • You will monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
  • You will monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
  • You will support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.
  • You will minimize obsolete stock and ensure that the business is left with minimum liability.
  • You will create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organization with same.
  • You will be responsible for day-to-day order management and management of deliveries.
  • You will understand and manage risks to minimize impact of supply shocks on production schedule.
  • You will take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
  • You will implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.

Job Requirements
The job requires the following:

  • A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management. Other graduates in other fields but having a certification is Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management should feel free to apply.
  • Previous experience, minimum of 3 years, with tangible proof, of materials planning ideally in the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, Docs, and Sheets.
  • Impeccable English Language (speaking & writing) skills.
  • Great communication and negotiation skills.
  • Great time management and planning skills.
  • Ability to work with and in an ethnically-diverse team.
  • A good understanding of supply chain processes and their interdependencies.
  • An understanding of supplier relationships and some experience of working with suppliers.
  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems or similar.

Remuneration

  • Salary: N100,000 - N150,000 monthly
  • The base salary is great, and there is a commission for revenue generated.
