Job Title: Maritime Service Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  • We are currently in search of a Maritime Service Officer, an energetic, dynamic, conscientious, detailed, and result-oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team, and taking pride in his/her career working in our fast-paced office.
  • This individual is expected to go the extra mile in ensuring delivery on projects while we provide the best environment and tools to help deliver on targets.

Job Purpose

  • To render assistance in the execution of all Maritime Services projects.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Responsible for developing and preparing project documents such as proposals, EOIs, etc as directed by the Unit Head.
  • Responsible for preparing project and cargo survey reports on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for preparing and sending project-related correspondence to their designated recipients as directed by the Unit Head.
  • Assists with creating a project timescale which includes details and deadline for each project task.
  • Assists with developing project modalities and frameworks for each project.
  • Assists with reviewing contracts and proposals.
  • Liaises with other units to ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are readily available for a project.
  • Assist with the preparation of Proposals and Bid documents.
  • Carries out other allied duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post and as assigned by the Managing Director.
  • Responsible for documenting all risks and developments pertaining to the project in a project register.
  • Responsible for filing and storing all project documents in a logical and retrievable manner.
  • Represents the company at bid/tender openings.
  • Attends project-related meetings as required.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of project plans.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.Sc or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years related work experience in the maritime industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (e.g. word, excel, outlook, project, Visio), internet, and email.
  • The ability to manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously and achieve deadlines under pressure.
  • Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, organizational skills, analytical and problem solving, and the ability to work with confidential documents.
  • Professional certificates in Project Management are desirable for this role
  • Keen interest, ability, and experience in research activities are key to this role.
  • Consultancy experience will be added advantage.
