About the Role
We are recruiting a Finance Director (FD) for our Nigeria Programme based in Abuja and reporting into the Country Director. As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight of financial management and information technology functions in MSK, ensuring appropriate systems, procedures and controls are in place and fully implemented as an integral part of all staff responsibilities to support the continued growth of the country programme. You will maintain close contact with both internal and external stakeholders on all matters of financial and IT management and accountability, managing the risks associated with this strategic programme area.


Job Title: FINANCE DIRECTOR
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Reporting to: Country Director

Key Responsibilities:
You will provide excellent leadership to small and highly professional finance and information technology team, with a particular focus on ensuring the finance team has the capacity to undertake world class financial management, including profitability management, maintenance of a positive cash flow, managing a healthy control environment and is able to provide high quality budgeting and business planning support. The role is a member of the Country Management Team (CMT) which is the senior leadership and decision making team of MSK. Reflecting MSK’s values in its behaviour and led by the Country Director, the CMT is made up of five core departments which, working together and mutually accountable, are responsible for development and delivery of a strategic programme characterised by a social enterprise model that is sustainable and delivers value for money in the medium to long term. The CMT designs and delivers an annual business plan and budget, oversees the realization of impact and value for money and manages risk and assurance in relation to quality and compliance.

About you
We see you being a professional qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) with significant experience in a similar position at senior management level, with ideally both NGO and private sector exposure. You will be a strong leader, with management aptitude in leading diverse teams at a distance.
Experience in strategic planning and execution of plans to achieve objectives or donor contract requirements is essential. In addition, experience of donor budgeting and reporting and prior experience in managing grants is highly desirable.

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:
· A professional qualified accountant certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA).
· At least five years’ of experience in a leadership role for a large division or company.
· Experience in strategic planning and execution of plans to achieve objective and targets.
