Job Title: Logistics and Vehicle Maintenance Officer

Position Summary and Primary Objectives

  • This role will participate in field-level planning formulation in the area of logistics.
  • Also in programme planning and advising on logistics considerations.
  • It will perform the supervisory and technical work in vehicles maintenance, repairs, and usage as needed.
Main Duties / Key
Accountabilities
  • Provide technical and operational support to the production outlets, as well as advice on application of logistics management best practice, systems and procedures. Take initiative in management for the logistic function.
  • Access existing logistics operations systems and advise on corrective measures to be undertaken.
  • Assist in the development of the vehicle services budget to include a review of past year expenses and income; adjust and administers all vehicles service purchases, including parts, tools, and office supplies.
  • Examine reports for accuracy on each vehicle repaired; writes reports on vehicles repaired.
  • Keep maintenance and repair records; perform preventive maintenance on all company vehicle; order repair parts.
  • Checks all repair work performed in workshop for completeness. This includes physical inspections and road tests before vehicle is turned back to user outlets.
  • Ensure the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of new initiatives and procedures related to logistics.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all company’s vehicles.
  • Implements and monitors a preventive maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance.
  • Maintain a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures and income of each vehicle, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc.
  • Implement and maintain a mechanic training to provide needed technical skills for mechanic in repair of vehicles.
  • Enforce maintenance practices and procedures and ensure vehicle drivers receive appropriate training.
  • Supervise all vehicle drivers; train, evaluate, and discipline drivers.
