Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Location: Sokoto
Job Type: Full-Time
Reporting to: Logistics and Admin Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow-up and monitor installation, maintenance and repair of all equipment;
  • Follow up on all vehicle and generators maintenance and repair needs reported by drivers or other staff members;
  • In case of accident, provide report to Logistic and Admin. Manager;
  • Assist the Logistics and Admin. Manager in ensuring that the premises meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation and that the premises are clean and free from environmental hazard;
  • Ensure that all drivers are aware of Action Against Hunger’s standard operating procedures, safety and security rules for movements;
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of driver schedules, holiday plans;
  • Ensure that movement plans are implemented;
  • Organize the cargo movements via trucks, planes or any other available and approved means;
  • Ensure security rules are followed up during movements;
  • Ensure that supplies received are properly stored (storage conditions, stock reports, expiry dates…) and ensure that it follows laid down procedures and that stock release orders, stock cards, SFU and other documents and/or tools are used and systematically updated.
  • Implement Action Against Hunger standard vehicle and generator fueling, maintenance and repair processes are adhered to;
  • Ensure that logbooks are properly filled, monitored on a regular basis and reported monthly;

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of Diploma (B.Sc / HND added advantage);
  • Certification in any Logistics or Supply Chain sector (fleet, procurement, transport, storage, asset) will be an added advantage;
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience required;
  • Ability to manage stress effectively and juggle competing priorities. Experience in supervisory position an asset;
  • Previous experience working for NGOs an asset, particularly international and/or health related NGOs;
  • Fluency in one or more national or regional languages an asset;
  • ICT knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently;
  • Familiar with (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to follow work plans;
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Good interpersonal skills – approachable, diplomatic, able to negotiate, influence, give and receive effective feedback, be a team player.

Starting Basic Salary
N216,006 Monthly (excluding other benefits)
