Job Title: Learning and Development Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description 

  • The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing employee learning and development programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and productivity of our workforce.
  • You will also evaluate the effectiveness of these programs and recommend improvements to meet organizational goals and objectives

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a learning and development strategy aligned with the organization's goals, culture, and values
  • Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop relevant learning materials and resources.
  • Foster a learning culture in the organization and promote continuous learning and development across the organization promoting employee engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify high-potential employees and create personalized development plans to nurture their growth and advancement within the company.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for employees seeking guidance on career development opportunities, skills enhancement, and learning resources
  • Provide coaching and support to employees to help them achieve their career goals and improve job performance
  • Manage new hire onboarding
  • Develop and implement coaching and mentorship programs
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs, such as knowledge and skills acquisition, behavioral change, and business impact and make recommendations for improvement
  • Measure the return on investment (ROI) of the training programs in terms of improved productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, revenue, or cost savings.
  • Implement and manage a learning management system (LMS) to track employee learning progress.
  • Design and implement training programs tailored to various levels of employees, including, technical skills development, Management Training academy, leadership development, compliance training etc.
  • Manage the learning and development budget effectively, ensuring that it is used efficiently and effectively to meet the organization's goals.
  • Liaise with ITF in the registration of trainings and application for reimbursements
  • Perform any other task as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.Tech / BEng or M.Sc. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in Learning and Development including experience with program design, development, and delivery. Building services Industry experience will be an added advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skill
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
