Job Title: Lead Clinical Psychologist
Location: Gwarimpa, Abuja (FCT)

- As the Lead Clinical Psychologist at our Mental Health and Drug Rehabilitation Centre, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive psychological services to individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse and mental health challenges.

Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients' mental health and substance abuse history.
- Formulate accurate diagnoses based on assessment findings.
Individual and Group Therapy:
- Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy to address clients' specific needs.
- Implement therapeutic modalities tailored to support recovery and mental well-being.
Treatment Planning and Case Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Provide ongoing case management, adapting plans to meet evolving client needs.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the quality of services provided.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement evidence-based practices to optimize patient care.
- Actively participate in regular quality assurance reviews and accreditation processes.
Group Sessions:
- Develop, organize, and oversee a diverse range of group therapy sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of inpatient individuals. These sessions should cover topics such as coping strategies, relapse prevention, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills.
- Encourage open communication, participation, and the sharing of experiences among group members.
- Introduce new and creative approaches to maintain the engagement and interest of inpatient individuals, promoting a positive and transformative experience.
- Infuse the Twelve-Step Recovery Program principles into group therapy sessions, aligning them with the overall treatment philosophy of the centre.
- Tailor group sessions to the unique needs and preferences of inpatient individuals, considering factors such as the stage of recovery, co-occurring disorders, and cultural diversity.
- Regularly assess the group therapy program's effectiveness and identify opportunities for innovation.
Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of clinical psychologists and mental health professionals, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of interventions.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Engage actively in leadership meetings to provide input on overall centre strategy, operational efficiency, and the integration of clinical services with the broader organizational goals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement ongoing training programs for clinical staff to ensure they stay updated on the latest treatment modalities and therapeutic techniques.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical professionals, and other staff members to integrate mental health care into the overall treatment approach.
- Participate in case conferences and contribute insights to optimize client outcomes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical services provided.
- Be conversant with the electronic medical record system for proper documentation of progress notes and treatment plans.
- Generate reports as required for internal and external stakeholders.
- Learn about new developments in counselling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars or establishing and maintaining contact with other social services agencies
Business Development:
- Collaborate with the executive team to contribute to the strategic development of the centre.
- Identify opportunities for program expansion, new services, and community outreach initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends and market demands to enhance the centre's offerings.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain patients.
- Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to raise awareness about the centre's services within the community.
- Foster relationships with referring professionals and agencies to increase patient referrals.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years clinical experience
- Proven experience in providing clinical supervision and leadership in a similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches for dual diagnosis cases.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Practicing License with NACP (Desirable)
- Experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment
Remuneration
Competitive salary ranging from N200,000 to N250,000 Monthly (based on qualifications and experience).
