Job Title: Credit Analyst

Location: Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating clients’ credit data and financial statements in order to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money to them
  • Preparing reports about the degree of risk in lending money to clients
  • Analyzing client records and using the data to recommend payment plans
  • Conferring with credit associations and references to exchange credit information on clients
  • Evaluating the financial status of clients by producing financial ratios through computer programs
  • Filling out loan applications and including the credit analysis and loan request summaries, then submitting these loan applications to loan committees for their approval
  • Helping supply chain and sales and marketing departments in managing financial orders to help them control credit exposure, make payments on time, and reduce the risk of customer disputes
  • Conferring with clients to verify their financial/credit transactions and to resolve their complaints

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related fields
  • Two to five years of strong quantitative experience
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and general computer use
  • Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment, with varying degrees of supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data

 

 



Job Title: Loan Recovery Officer

Location: Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Loan Recovery Officer to be responsible for collecting bad debt including written-off loans and loans overdue more specified days with compliance with acceptable common practices aligned with legal framework requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and approach all district branch managers and provincial branch manager to discuss and explore practical technique and strategies to incorporate into the plan.
  • Formulate plan of detail actions of written off loans from previous and current years.
  • Set out the detail actions and target of loan write off recoveries down to all the concerned client service officers.
  • Identify and assess a recovery likelihood of loan write off clients, rating Low, Medium, or High.
  • Coordinate with loan officer to identify loan write off clients and classify them into four different categories according to combination of their willingness to pay and capacity to pay.
  • Work closely with Branch Manager (BM) and Loan Officer (LO) to execute recovery techniques and strategies including, loan write off mapping, regular home visit and chasing, and collecting.
  • Try to get all the loan write off clients to have commitments with and to get them to follow their pledge.
  • Seek ways to continuously improve performance and productivity on the job.
  • Work closely with the Credit and Recovery Manager, Regional Manager and Branch Manager to identify root cause of loan delinquency, operational weaknesses and recommend changes to improve the quality of the portfolio.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirement Competencies

  • University Degree from any related field is preferred.
  • 2 years’ and above experience in microfinance operations directly dealing with delinquent clients and other problem-solving situations.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have good computer literacy and email.
  • Must be fluent in the English language (both written and spoken).
  • Must have the ability to make fair and ethical decisions in tough circumstances.
  • Must be very organized in order to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High self-motivation with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to motivate and persuade others, particularly delinquent clients to repay debt.
  • Abilities to communicate with local authorities and legal / court members in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate high level of ethical commitment and trustworthiness.

 

 

Job Title: Legal and HR Intern

Job Title: Internal Audit, Risk and Control Officer

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Objective of Role

  • To provide continued assurance on the effectiveness of the institution trust system of Internal Control and coordinate the process of risk identification evaluation and mitigation so as to make sure that the institution achieves its corporate goals of growth & profitability.

Job Description

  • Design, implement and appraise the adequacy of an effective internal control system that meets the Institution’s control requirements.
  • Plan and carry out regular internal control evaluation to ensure total compliance, assess the reliability and integrity of information on the Institution’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensures outcome of the audit and other reviews, findings, observations, and recommendations are discussed with concerned managers and agree on a plan of action for improvement.
  • Conducts continuous follow-up and post-implementation reviews to ensure managers and other responsible persons act on an agreed action plan.
  • Carry out special assignments, investigations, or reviews that may be requested by executive management.
  • Ensure that enterprise-wide risk management policies, control and procedures are effectively implemented, disseminated and complied with across the Institution.
  • To issue periodic reports to the Audit &Risk Committee and Managing Director summarizing results of the Audit.
  • Reviewing Operation to ascertain whether results are consistent with the institution established objectives and goals and whether the operations are carried out as planned.
  • Institute fraud prevention framework across all our operations.
  • Continual evaluation of the Institution’s policies and procedures to make sure they are in compliance with statutory laws guiding all our operations.
  • Advises the management and personnel of emerging compliance issues and consults and guides the Institution in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline;
  • Must be ICAN certified and other relevant Professional Qualifications certified
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years work experience, including senior-level experience in internal Control, with demonstrable capacity in the Banking Industry.
  • Must have cross-cutting experience in internal Control, covering financial, operations, compliance, and risk management
  • Must have Practical knowledge of audit/control and risk management in the financial services industry
  • Must be result-oriented and well organized, with problem-solving ability.
