JRS undertakes services at national and regional levels with the support and guidance of an international office in Rome.

Job Summary
- JRS is recruiting for the position of Junior Livelihood Assistant to be based in Monguno and Dikwa LGAs of Borno State in preparation for anticipated funding from the European Commission Directorate for Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) for projects to be implemented in Dikwa and Monguno LGAs of Borno State, Nigeria.
- This is an entry-level position that will be under the supervision of the Project Director, the Junior Livelihoods Assistant is responsible for the implementation of all technical programs/interventions undertaken by the organization, matching with the quality criteria and strategy related to livelihood activities.
- S/He is fully responsible of his/her activity in terms of quality, respect of the targets, and respect of the budget and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Role / Mission:
- To work with the JRS program and M&E teams to prepare market monitoring tools and to understand the market and community dynamics within which the targeting and implementation of the livelihood interventions will be conducted.
- Implement livelihood activities and raise anything to adjust according to the context.
- Facilitate community engagement on the project based on humanitarian principles.
- Complete deliverables to specification and within the specified timeline.
- Identify best practices and lessons learned.
- Put a clear strategy for the change that will be made by the intervention in the areas.
- Track project activities to ensure timely implementation and alignment with project goals and objectives.
- To participate in designing technical assessments
- To ensure the quality and efficiency of all Livelihoods interventions on the project.
- To monitor the progress of activity implementation and consultants
- To prepare, check the quality and accuracy, and submit project documents (beneficiary lists, reports, analysis, forms, etc.) timely.
- Contribute to the Weekly Report on the implementation of activities as per specific program and donor requirements.
- Contribute to the monthly report about the general achievement and challenge in the areas of intervention; these will include changes and challenges where necessary.
- Promote PSEA and safeguarding standards within JRS and amongst the beneficiaries it serves.
- Supporting the development of training plans, training curricula, and training materials and making sure they are validated by the Project Director.
- Participating in the assessment of gaps and needs in the sector of intervention and exchanging information with the Project Director.
- Ensure equal representation of various community groups in the implementation of activities.
- Assist in the facilitation of community meetings, focus group discussions, and other as required by the program.
- Assist in the identification and location of beneficiaries when requested.
Required Profile
Qualification:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree / HND.
Experience and Skills:
- Have a bachelor’s qualification in any relevant field.
- Have at least 1 year experience in livelihood-related programming
- Have a good experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong data management skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to operate in challenging environments.
- Ability to manage complaints from beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
- Experience working in emergency settings (deep field), particularly in Northeast Nigeria.
- Preferably a Kanuri and Hausa speaker with strong English writing and reporting skills
- The position is open to indigenes of Borno State.
Qualities:

- Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
