Job Title: System Administrator

Purpose statement
- To offer IT support services covering IT infrastructures and
provides Server support services, and administer network security
systems.
- The role also includes support services for other infrastructural platforms as stipulated by the IT Manager.
Principal Accountabilities
- Providing high level management and deployment support services on large server systems including Cisco UCS systems.
- Maintaining the daily / monthly backup of data in all VBN
offices including Abuja and Port Harcourt and liaising with the IT
Contact personnel in each of the offices on all IT-related issues.
- On-call and after hours support.
- Installs or modifies existing installations of networked computer hardware, software, and other components.
- Provide 2nd level support for all business applications and other applications used in the company.
- Ensuring that the network security systems such as the
Datacentre Security Suite and a host of other systems are functioning
optimally.
- Research and certify the operation and compatibility of hot
fixes (patches), new versions of vendor provided applications and
appliances, across a variety of hardware and software platforms.
- Providing required IT-support which include but not limited to Windows Operating Systems and Server Applications.
- Troubleshooting and resolving of network problems.
- Maintain the IT network including servers, switches and all other IT-network related equipment.
- Provides administrative support services for the enterprise VoIP services.
Qualifications
- Preferred candidate must have a good University degree or HND in
Computer Science /Engineering, Electrical Electronics or
Telecommunications Engineering (minimum of Second Class or equivalent).
- Possession of MCSE / MCP / CCNA / CCNP will be an added advantage.

Purpose Statement
- Responsible for managing projects covering various
telecommunications core, access technologies and products for Vodacom
and Vodacom’s customers efficiently within an agreed scope, time and
budget constraint, whilst also managing the clients’ expectations.
- This position is accountable to deliver and implement customer
links and networks within the design parameters and on time and within
budget.
Principal Accountabilities
- Defines clearly project objective.
- Creates and defends project budgets.
- Prepares and manages project plans and implementation schedules using MS Project and other suitable software.
- Produces Project reports for customer and internal consumption.
- Controls the project implementation process.
- Assists in invoicing according to milestone.
- Assist with the preparation of bid documents.
- Assist with equipment ordering and payment of vendor/ contractor invoices.
- Escalate project issues timely.
