The Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI), formerly known as Centre for Communication Programs Nigeria (CCPN) was registered in 2001 as a Non-Governmental Organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria.
Birthed in Nigeria by the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (JHCCP), Baltimore, USA, CCPN transitioned its operations under the new name CCSI after an exciting 10 years of growth and operations in Nigeria and other African countries.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning [RMEL] Assistant
Location: Abuja
Position Summary
- This position will provide support for the design and implementation of all research as well as routine monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Additionally, this position ensures that best practices are used in all research/M&E and learning activities. Limited travel is expected.
Reporting & Supervision:
- The RMEL Assistant will report to the TA-RMEL
Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- in appropriate platforms and space.
- Participate in routine monitoring of field activities
- Support routine analysis of all project data for performance reviews, documentations of learning outcomes, publications and dissemination.
- Support the TA RMEL in the integration and implementation of RMEL framework and strategies across all CCSI programs
- Support the TA RMEL in coordinating RMEL capacity building sessions for program staff.
- Support the TA RMEL in reviewing routine program reports and ensure quality
- Work with the knowledge management committee (KMC) to support the implementation of CCSI’s knowledge management systems; and the development of data related content for CCSI website
- Support in the development of CCSI quarterly and annual reports
- Work closely with the TA RMEL to conceptualize and develop research studies and program evaluation; and ensure field research are implemented based on protocol
- Assist in development of research instruments for all research and evaluation studies
- Support the TA RMEL in organizing, coordinating the mobilization of data enumerators, and provide requisite training, the data collection, processing, and management of data at field level.
- Support research analysis and interpretation including data cleaning and draft presentations and reports of the studies implemented
- Actively participate in writing of scientific and technical articles for publications
- Work with the IT unit to ensure CCSI’s program data are warehoused
Required Qualifications and Experience
- B.Sc in Public Health (Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy) or Social Science (Sociology, Economics, Political Science). Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative software’s (e.g. SPSS, STATA, R NVivo, Dedoose, Atlas ti etc.) will be an added advantage.
- Written and spoken communications skills in English and any Nigerian language.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a cross-cultural, team-based environment.
- Minimum of two years of work experience with national and international NGOs with expertise in empirical research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis and research writing will be given preference
- Experience in data collation, entry, processing and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data sets
- Knowledge of knowledge management tools and methodologies within NGOs and other sectors is required.
- Knowledge of scientific writing, research and evaluation designs
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, and Power point.
