North East Regional Initiative (NERI) - An International Development Organization, is seeking applications from qualified Nigerian nationals for the vacant position below: Job Title: STTA Online Social Media Campaign Moderator Location: Borno Position Start Date: Immediately Position Summary

  • NERI seeks an STTA Online Social Media Campaigns Moderator to support trained youths in Maiduguri to establish vibrant social media presence and carry out online photo campaign in varied CVE themes with compelling pictures of how peace is returning and holding in their communities.
  • The STTA will create, design, and organize a suitable platform for these pictures to be used on a cascading order as online CVE campaign materials across different online channels.
  • Also the STTA will monitor, record, analyze and report how the youths are performing with the online campaign and posted contents.
  • One of the suggested hashtags to be used during this campaign will be the #C.A.V.E and #CampaignAgainstViolentExtremism.
  • The STTA will have the responsibility for providing guidance on possible themes, topics, campaign design and schedule, advisories and overall management of individual and group campaigns actions of participating youths.
Reporting & Supervision:
  • The STTA Online Photo Campaign Moderator will be supervised directly by the State Program Manager. He will provide situational reports, ideas and ad hoc reporting to the State Program Manager and Program Development Manager
Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Coordinate online activities of participating youths through multiple social media platforms and channels to reach diverse audiences.
  • Support participants with development of targeted online campaign themes, topics, and schedules to promote vibrancy and CVE focus
  • Collaborate with NERI reporting team, providing additional narrative concepts and creative input towards development of success stories, reporting and related projects, as reasonably requested.
  • Weekly social media reports on campaign activities of participants
  • Clearly articulated work-plan over the period of engagement
  • Create a Social Media Strategy (SMS) for the CVE campaign efforts including identifying audience, selection of appropriate social media platforms, list of proposed topics, hashtags etc based on the activity’s goal
  • Define appropriate metrics for data collection; content management guidelines and adoption of a follower policy to maintain security and privacy of all communications
  • Help manage online presence through social media efforts; including the preparation of a monthly social media follower and engagement dashboard for each participant.
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
  • Create calendars and syndication schedules of campaign actions
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Prepare and provide other deliverables according to emerging trends and as reasonably requested
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • A Degree in Communications, Mass Communications, New Media, Public Relations or related fields with proven work experience and presence in major social networks will give an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience in actual execution of social media activities including evidence of personal Blogs/tweets, and management of third party social media platforms.
  • Experience in sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Excellent communications skills and time management abilities.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience up and managing youth social networks in post-conflict settings
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
Job Title: STTA Photography Mentor Location: Borno Position Start Date: Immediately Position Summary
  • NERI seeks an STTA Photography Mentor to support trained youths in Maiduguri with inspiration and hands-on mentoring to engage in and carry out online photo campaign in varied CVE themes with compelling pictures of how peace is returning and holding in their communities.
  • The STTA will have the responsibility for providing experiential guidance on exploits and challenges that young photographers encounter in areas recovering from conflicts like the NE Nigeria.
  • The mentor will also make inputs to possible themes, topics, campaign design and overall criteria for success or not of individual and group campaigns actions of participating youths
Reporting & Supervision:
  • The STTA Photography Mentor will be supervised directly by the NERI Borno State Program Manager.
  • S/he will provide situational reports, ideas and adhoc reporting to the State Program Manager and Program Development Manager
Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Take the lead in supporting the youth trainees through an ongoing one-to-one or group relationship
  • Serve as a positive role model and friend.
  • Assist mentee with setting goals to achieve personal successes
  • Weekly updates on tasks accomplished with participants
  • Draft criteria for selection of most compelling photos and images in line with activity goal
  • Detailed work-plan of 1:1 and/or group engagement with mentees
  • Prepare and provide other deliverables according to emerging trends and as reasonably requested
  • Build beneficial relationships by participating in post training practical activities of participating youths
  • Encourage mentees through supportive activities
  • Build self-esteem and motivate the mentees in line with activity goal.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • A diploma in related fields with proven work experience and presence in major social networks will give an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience up and managing photo studio, photo exhibitions or gallery is required
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Excellent communications skills and time management abilities.
  • Fluency in English required, ability to communicate in Kanuri and Hausa is an added advantage
  Job Title: STTA Photography Trainer Location: Borno Position Start Date: Immediately Slot: 2 Position Summary
  • NERI seeks the professional services of two (2) STTA Photography Trainers to plan and conduct basic photography training for 30 youths in Maiduguri, Borno State, and support the youths to strengthening the art and skills of capturing compelling photos in varied themes that showcase how peace is returning modules, schedule of training event and practical support and mentoring of participating youths under this activity.
  • The STTAs will jointly design, plan and organize a suitable tailored training event - starting with a general understanding of the participants’ exposure interest and passion for photography as a tool for social change and countering violent extremism in a post conflict setting.
  • The STTAs will monitor, record, analyze and report how the youths are performing all through the duration of the training and mentoring period.
Reporting & Supervision:
  • The STTA Photography Trainers will be supervised directly by the State Program Manager.
  • They will provide situational reports, ideas and adhoc reporting to the State Program Manager and Program Development Manager.
Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop appropriate training modules over the agreed period
  • Plan sessions and organize after class events as part of practical experience
  • Support participants with sample training material relevant to this activity goal and CVE focus
  • Help manage expectations among participants
  • Draft training modules and agenda -specially tailored for the target youths in line with CVE goal
  • Clear work-plan articulating theory, practical and after class mentoring of participants
  • Analysis of pre and post test administered to trainees
  • Samples of training materials distributed to participants
  • Weekly progress reports on training and related activities of participants
  • Detailed end-line report with learning and recommendations
  • Prepare and provide other deliverables according to emerging trends and as reasonably requested
  • Develop training agenda and work-plan covering the period clearly articulating milestones
  • Collaborate with NERI reporting team, providing additional narratives and creative input towards achieving activity success and reporting as reasonably requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Photography, Mass Communications, New Media, or related fields with proven work experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with evidenced passion for photography in post-conflict settings will give an added advantage
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering trainings and working with youths is desirable
  • Excellent communications skills and time management abilities
  • Fluency in English required - ability to communicate in Hausa or Kanuri’s an advantage
