Health Initiatives for Safety and Stability in Africa (HIFASS), is a non-profit organization registered in 2007 in Nigeria with a core objective of expanding quality health care and treatment in Africa. Our vision is enhancing healthier and safer communities, while our mission is to collaborate with partners to promote comprehensive and sustainable interventions for public health, support military medicine and health diplomacy for peace, stability and development of communities. Over the years HIFASS has provided manpower and associated support to Henry M. Jackson Foundation for Advancement of Military Medicine in support of Nigeria Military HIV program across military Formations.
We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:
Job Title: Full Stack Web Developer
Location: Abuja
Reports to: IT Manager
Work Hours: full-time 40 hours/week
General Description
- The individual would be responsible for designing / building functional, user – friendly and visually appealing web applications.
- He / She would also be required to modify open source web solutions to meet the requirements of different program managers.
Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop scripts for typical application support tasks (backups, logs documentation, DB maintenance, data import / export, e.t.c)
- Collaborate with external Systems, Networks and Security teams in delivering projects, where necessary
- Perform requirements gathering and develop clear Functional Specification documents
- Apply Object Oriented Development methodology to design optimized and scalable database systems
- Build browser independent, intuitive User Interfaces
- Manage configuration and support deployment of open source systems e.g. OpenMRS, DHIS2
- Design a development methodology that supports quick project rollout, incorporating Model – View – Controller and similar modular approaches
- Perform data exchange between new and existing web applications using API’s, Web Services and flat files
- Apply modern standards to ensure security of new and existing web applications
- Conceptualize and initiate solutions that would enhance organization’s operational procedures through automation
Requirements
- Minimum Education/Training Requirement: Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Management or any related course.
- Prior Work Experience: Minimum 5 years previous experience in similar roles (reference or demo sites required)
Knowledge and skills, person:
- Demonstrable experience building solutions encompassing secure access, role separation, workflow management, robust security/system auditing and multi-format reporting
- Previous experience with OpenMRS
- Experience with DHIS2 and other Health Information Systems would be an added advantage
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn and adapt to new terminologies
- Analytical mind
- Excellent written and verbal communications at fluency level IV
- Good communicator
- Driven, passionate and committed to keeping abreast with evolving trends
- Willingness to travel.
- Solid HTML / CSS
- Languages – JAVA (preferred), C#, JavaScript, PHP, Python
- Proficiency in using DB systems such as MSSQL. Previous experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL is an added advantage
- Experience with migrating data across different database systems
- REST / SOAP web services
- Graphics / multi-media tools
- Ability to develop mobile apps would be an added advantage
- Client – Server design architecture
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux server systems
