Iron Products Industries Limited has been active for more than 50 years in Nigeria. The company started as a steel work manufacturer and has since become the leader in steel fabrication. The group has executed major projects around the country in all sectors with a focus on structural steel and oil and gas. Over the years, IPI has also diversified into the Automotive assembly, Trailer manufacturing, Paint manufacturing, and Logistics.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Internal Control Officer

Location: Ikotun, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Assist in conducting internal audits of operational processes, financial transactions, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the audit team to develop procedures, and checklists to assess risks and evaluate controls.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential areas of risk or non-compliance,findings, and recommendations for review by senior Internal Control and management.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including department heads and process owners, and assist in developing action plans to address identified issues.
  • Perform testing of internal controls, including sample selection, documentation review, and data analysis, to identify deficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions and recommendations from previous audits to ensure resolution and closure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with 4-6 years experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to work within a team, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Job suitable for candidates residing around Ikotun and environs
  • Previous experience in auditing, preferably in an industrial setting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
