Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Ltd. (SEEPCO) is an indigenous company that ventured into Exploration and Production (E&P) business in the year 2005. SEEPCO participated in the 2005 bid round held by Department of Petroleum Resoucres (DPR) and was successful with license OML 143 (formerly OPL 280).

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 



Job Title: Instrument Engineer

Locations: Lagos and Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work independently ,for overseeing the technical aspect of projects and for coordinating the project instrumentation team at the FEED, EPC to Operation phase.
  • Will report to Lead Instrument Engineer and project Manager.
  • He shall have the personality and drive to manage independently and also direct and guide the team to achieve the Project objectives. In addition, he must be assertive and firm in dealing with FEED Engineer, EPC contractors and other service provides while exercising absolute control on the work.
  • Good Exposure in LER/Satellite station Engineering phase /construction phase/commissioning phase.
  • Hands on experience to handle instruments in the field , HART communicators etc, loop check in the field ,LER etc
  • Review petrochemical projects Instrumentation system design and detailed engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments, and ensure resolution.
  • Review design documents of ESD, PLC, DCS, MMS, Fire and Gas detection system of Contractor
  • Manage direct reports including managing work allocation, training, mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
  • Provide input for establishing internal company policies and procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL
  • Participate in P&ID and 3D Model review.
  • Advise the supervisor ahead of issues becoming critical and provide recommendations to improve these issues.
  • Provide appropriate guidance as necessary with regard to local legislation, codes and standard and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 + Years related experience in Instrumentation system design and project execution of process plants.
  • Through with design codes and standards
  • Experience in HAZOP, SIL.
  • Competent in field and DCS instrument system and loop check and handling the HART communicators etc
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Proven conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in large scale green field in petrochemical & Refinery plants.
  • 10+ Years related experience in Petrochemical plant Instrumentation and DCS/PLC system specification, selection, construction and commissioning.
  • Coordinating with Engineering Contractor Instrumentation team in the design and detailed engineering of petrochemical projects during FEED/ EPC stages.
  • Ability to review engineering contractor’s design and engineering documents related to instrument system.
  • Ability to work independently and providing necessary input for setting policy and establishing work methods.
