Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Supervisor

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The HSE Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • The role involves compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Train and mentor employees on HSE practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Monitor and assess the safety performance of contractors and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and drills.
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all HSE incidents are reported and properly documented.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HSE role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, HSE Level 1-3).
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
