Job Title: Head of Production - PVC

Location: Nigeria

Description

  • We are seeking an experienced Head of Production to lead their manufacturing operations in the PVC section of the plastic recycling industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both production management and maintenance, ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the recycling facility.
  • This role requires exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and sustainability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the production process, including material handling, processing, and quality control
  • Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and workflows for efficiency
  • Ensure production goals and targets are met while maintaining product quality
  • Manage the maintenance department to ensure facility and equipment are well-maintained
  • Implement Lean Six Sigma principles to drive process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization
  • Drive innovation in production methods and technologies
  • Establish and maintain quality control standards and procedures
  • Monitor product quality and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Develop and manage production and maintenance budgets effectively
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all activities using CRM software
  • Identify areas for waste reduction, process optimization, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Train and mentor production staff in Six Sigma tools and techniques
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities to minimize production disruptions
  • Enforce and promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of production and maintenance professionals
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven analysis for process improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and seek professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and optimize production efficiency
  • Budget management experience is advantageous
  • Commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility
  • Experience in the production of Plastic injection mold machines and maintenance of HAITIAN machines
  • Experience in maintaining Recycling machines like Washing line (Grace Machine), Extrusion line (Grace and Technova Machine), Fitter line (Grace Machine), and Grinding Machine.
  • 7+ years of experience in production management within plastic recycling or related industry
  • Strong background in maintenance management, including industrial equipment and machinery knowledge
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control processes
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
