Funding Manager at CBM International


CBM is an International Christian Development Organization, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world. CBM provides grants sourced from private and institutional donors to local partners, who subsequently implement the grants on the basis of contracts signed with CBM detailing implementation, accounting, and reporting standards. In this set-up, CBM Country Offices (CO) perform control and monitoring procedures aimed at partner projects; control reports from implementing partners to CBM, including comparison with original source documents, project contract and cost plans; and ensure compliance with organizational and statutory requirements.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Funding Manager

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess funding opportunities from institutional donors with particular focus on international humanitarian donors
  • Support CBM’s readiness and contribute to internal stakeholder capacity building for ECHO funding application.
  • Ensure timely execution of the donor contract and proper handover of the project to the Project Delivery team
  • Monitor funding realization and internal reporting
  • Close cooperation with Regional- and Country Offices, the CBM Initiatives and other departments for all institutional donor funding related tasks
  • Ensure efficient use of CBM IT systems in the institutional fundraising context (funding/development process and donor interactions)
  • Communicate suitable funding opportunities with relevant internal stakeholders for a Go/No-go decision
  • Manage the proposal development process
  • Support project planning for institutional donor funded projects
  • Identify potential consortia partners and support in formalizing the partnership
  • Establish and maintain a relationship with the existing and potential consortia partners

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field of study
  • At least some successful experience in securing funding from international humanitarian donors (e.g., ECHO, PRM, BHA, UN OCHA, etc.)
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and team playing attitude
  • Good verbal and writing skills in English (German and French is an advantage)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Work packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and internationally. Approx. 5% of your working time
  • Responsible, agile, and flexible working style
  • Identification with Christian values and the mandate of the CBM
  • Ability to make autonomous contributions to efficient and effective process coordination and management in the context of involved stakeholders
  • Practical international experience in development cooperation is an advantage
