We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational knowledge in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization- Accounts receivable and Accounts payable.
  • Prepares and Packages financial documents for funding/financing e.g LC’s where required
  • Liaises with government agencies on issues relating to tax matters.
  • Manages lenders, bankers, shareholders, external auditors relationships alongside the Group Chief Financial Officer
  • Developing and maintaining financial analysis to support decision making of the company and ensuring that the company complies with all taxation laws.
  • Ensure credibility of the operational Finance unit by providing timely and accurate reports of performance to budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Converts Project Business plan estimates and Bills of Quantity submissions into a formal project financing monitoring and management plan with appropriate pricing and profitability targets.
  • Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive project delivery cost system.
  • Adhere to best practices. Reviews accounting systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyzing financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for internal and external use.
  • Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
  • Responsible for statutory reporting, treasury management (working capital management, investment analysis) and financial review of growth opportunities
  • Present financial reports for review by the Group Chief Financial Officer for onward presentation to the Executive Management/Board;
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Makes recommendation regarding the company’s accounting reserves, assets and expenditures.
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support long-range planning needs of the company and address issues that affect shareholder value
  • Directing and managing the preparation of the annual budget and regular forecasts
  • Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of the management accounts and provide analysis of trends in the industry

Experience and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years working experience within the finance/audit and control department of a corporate or government organization
  • Professional qualification such as: ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CFA etc
