KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB), still the deadliest infectious disease in the world. KNCV is an international center of expertise for TB control that promotes effective, efficient, innovative and sustainable TB control strategies in a national and international context. We are an organization of passionate TB professionals, including doctors, researchers, training experts, nurses and epidemiologists. We aim to stop the spread of the worldwide epidemic of TB and to prevent the further spread of drug-resistant TB.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Abuja

Reporting Line: Finance Manager
Purpose of the Job
- The Finance Officer will be a key member of the USAID-funded Drug-Resistant Survey (DRS) project team at KNCV Nigeria.
- This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong financial acumen, experience in managing USAID-funded projects, and the ability to ensure compliance with USAID regulations.
- The Finance Officer will oversee all financial aspects of the DRS project, including budget management, financial reporting, and compliance with USAID requirements.
Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Join to develop and maintain project budgets in accordance with USAID regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with budgetary allocations and cost principles outlined by USAID.
- Enter all financial documents into the accounting system.
- Ensure that all project incurred expenses are timely paid, documented, and filed.
- Develop and maintain an effective professional relationship with KNCV’s Nigeria local banking institutions.
- Ensure adherence to all major financial rules and regulations which are described in the KNCV Finance Manual and other appropriate policies.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure procurement activities are conducted in compliance with USAID regulations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audit readiness and compliance with USAID requirements.
- Prompt processing of payment due to beneficiaries
- Perform other additional duties as assigned.
Grant Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to USAID regulations, including financial reporting requirements, allowable expenses, and audit standards.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for USAID, adhering to reporting deadlines and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Grants Manager to monitor grant agreements, track funding disbursements, and address any financial compliance issues.
Budget Planning and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of project budgets, including forecasting expenses and revenue projections in alignment with USAID guidelines.
- Provide financial input for proposal development, including budget preparation and cost analysis.
- Monitor project spending against budget forecasts and provide regular updates to project management and USAID counterparts.
Audit and Compliance:
- Support internal and external audits by providing financial documentation, responding to audit inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with USAID regulations, organizational policies, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Capacity Building and Training:
- Provide training and support to project staff on financial policies, procedures, and systems, with a focus on compliance with USAID regulations.
- Promote a culture of financial accountability and transparency within the project team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting. Master’s degree and Accounting professional qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the nonprofit sector or international development organizations, with specific experience managing USAID-funded projects.
- Fluency in English Language is preferred.
- The Finance Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial sustainability and compliance of the USAID-funded Drug-Resistant Survey (DRS) project, contributing to the organization’s mission of KNCV Nigeria.
