Job Description
- NRC is looking for a Field Coordinator, in Northern Nigeria. The purpose of the Field Office Coordinator is to supervise and coordinate program and support functions at the Field Office level. The Field Coordinator is the focal person for NRC in the field office and is responsible to ensure implementation of projects activities with a high level of compliance.
- He/she also plays the role of security focal point at the field office level.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence with NRC / NIF policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines and donor/auditor requirements as regards to all printed and online publications.
- Coordinate all NRC activities in Dikwa Field Office
- Support Field Officers and Assistants in planning and implementing program activities in a quality and timely manner
- Ensure high level of coordination with other agencies and stakeholders in projects implementation
- Support Area Manager with planning and budgeting for the Field Office (program activities, cash forecast, spending plans, procurement plans)
- Coordinate activities at Field Offices and Manage Field Office staff, both support, and programs
- Manage and coordinate the security and safety of staff in the field office with the support of the Area Manager
- Represent NRC in meetings with the UN, authorities, civil society and any other relevant stakeholder
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, procedures, and SOPs/guidelines
- Ensure adherence to Security and Risk Management policy and procedures
- Coordinate and assist with budgets and costs for the field office’s shared costs and support functions
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
- Assess needs at field levels and support in drafting projects proposal
- Provide support in identifying training and development needs for field staff
- Ensure all projects and programs implementation at field office level in line with donor requirement and NRC guidelines and procedures
- Monitor the security situation on daily basis in collaboration with the Area Manager and Security Coordinator
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years’ experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Fluency in Kanuri and Hausa (verbal) is an advantage
- Knowledge on own leadership skills/profile
- Technical expertise in one or several NRC Core Competencies will be an advantage
- Previous experience as Field Coordinators/Managers is preferable
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

We Can Offer
- Commencement: March 2020
- Duration: 10 months (One-year renewal)
- Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions of grade-level 7 steps 1
- Duty station: Dikwa, with frequent travels. Travel outside Dikwa is dependent on changing security conditions, especially for certain roads in the area.
- An approved health certificate will be requested before the contract start.
