Job Summary 

  • As a Drilling Application Engineer, you will deliver flawless execution through involvement in pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis.
  • This position works seamlessly together with the Service Delivery Coordinators. With other resources across organizational boundaries to ensure all aspects and constraints of the applications are understood and have been considered.

Responsibilities
As Drilling Applications Engineer - Drilling Services, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process.
  • Working with the assigned Service Delivery Coordinator/Salesperson to understand the client’s well construction or production objectives.
  • Compare job as-planned versus job as-executed, document any lessons learned and develop recommendations for further improvements to procedures to ensure continuous improvement takes place.
  • Participating in Incident Investigations when required, ensuring the end to end process is considered, when determining incident cause(s) and corrective actions.
  • Working on Field Incidents related to products/services.
  • Providing sales support and product application recommendations.
  • Working on Field Incidents related to products/services.
  • Performing offset job analysis and product/service specific engineering modelling calculations to understand application hazards and incident potential.
  • Designing a job program, including risk mitigation and contingency plans, that meets the client’s objective(s).
  • Ensure timely incident management to enable fast customer issue resolution and cash collection.

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Have at least 5 years' experience as a Drilling Applications Engineer within oil and gas industry.
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Have exceptional organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have the ability to travel (potential for travel to rig sites, customer facilities, meetings, trainings, etc.). 
  • Have excellent leadership and interpersonal, influencing and planning skills.
  • Have the ability to be on call outside of normal business hours.
  • Have the ability to work in a global matrix organization.
