Abuja
– The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has advised
applicants for its recent job advert placement to desist from giving
money to any individual to influence their employment in the
organisation.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by General Manger, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mr Yakubu Dati.
Dati said that FAAN did not demand money from applicants to get
employed, adding that the current recruitment was being done in a
transparent manner.
He advised who were approached by any person for money to report such a
person to the police, adding that FAAN would not be held responsible for
such transactions.
“The current recruitment is being done in the most transparent and orderly manner.
“So, we advise that nobody should pay any amount of money to any individual or company to get employed in the authority.
“All employments will be based on merit as there are stipulated criteria for recruitment into the Authority,” he said.
He recalled that one man was recently arrested while handing a forged
letter of appointment to an unsuspecting applicant at Murtala Muhammed
Airport, Lagos.
He said the suspect had since been handed over to the police at the
airport for further investigation and necessary action. (NAN)
