Job Title: Director of Works and Services

Location: Owerri, Imo

Responsibilities / Functions

  • Works Services is a Directorate in the office of the Vice-Chancellor, responsible for the Operation, Maintenance and Rehabilitation / Upgrading of Physical Infrastructure, Plants, Equipment, Vehicles and Public Utilities of the University.
  • The Director of Works Services shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the Directorate.
  • He/She should be able to provide appropriate leadership and advice on the Institution's problems in the general works area.

Qualifications & Experience
The candidate for the post must possess:

  • A Degree or any equivalent qualification in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, registrable as an Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN),
  • NYSC Discharge / Exemption Certificate, Registration Certificate as an Engineer and current Practicing License by COREN
  • 15 years post qualification experience, ten years of which should be Post COREN Certification
  • 5 years as a Deputy Director, Possession of Higher Degrees and Fellowship of The Nigerian Society of Engineers will be added advantage(s)
  • He must be computer literate.
