We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Gate Clerk
Ref.: AT-200572
Location: Onne, Rivers
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Gate In / Gate Out transactions, issues Pick-up / Delivery tickets & EIR
- Update relevant information in N4.
- Supervise the activities of contracted guards to ensure they are not in harm’s way.
- Ensure that contracted workers are performing empty containers inspection and container sealed after inspection.
- Confirm that container units loaded on truck are same number as released on the system and corresponds with all related documents.
- Monitor road traffic at the gate and yard to ensure safety of all personnel at the area.
- Ensure no truck driver is allowed into the terminal without the requisite passes
- Ensure truck condition conforms with WACT HSE standards.
- Ensure the inspection clerks do thorough checks of the incoming containers before sealing them.
Job Requirements
We are looking for
- B.Sc or its equivalent with good grades
- At least two or more years’ experience in container terminal operations environment.
- Must be very observant and uncompromising when under negative pressure
- Must be proficient in desktop computer software programs, such as MS Office 2000, and other software programs for specific operational planning purposes.
- Understands safety regulations, safe working procedures and safe materials handling procedures and follows safety and work instructions.

Job Title: Resource and Statistics Assistant

Key responsibilities
- Support all Operations functional areas – Execution, Planning, Cargo Control and Customer Service.
- Collate data from different key Operation areas capturing start/finish times, vessel delays, yard delays, Crane breakdowns etc.
- Design report templates for organizing data.
- Update and send reports daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
- Reconcile Terminal Delivery Report with N4.
- Control and follow up effectively the leave schedule/sick leave within Operations Department (Execution, Planning and Gate).
- Monitor Time and Attendance for Operations personnel
- Evaluate and advice on required manning needs
- Ensure maximum efficiency by Labour/Gangs based on company requirements keeping in mind the type of equipment in use and the labour laws related to the same.
- Establish a standard system for organizing Labour/Gangs and equipment operators.
- Set and prepare all equipment rotations

Job Title: Vessel Clerk

Key Responsibilities
- Control flow of loaded and/or empty vehicles under Quay Crane to crane “order of work” schedule and container sequence sheets during loading and/or discharging to maintain continuous operations.
- Monitor the loading and discharge of containers on and off the vessel, update on the HHT
- Advises Supervisor of any discrepancies or any shortage of vehicles or delays to container arriving under Quay Crane.
- Confirm load and/or discharge position by updating bay plan.
- Note any apparent damage or missing seals on import containers.
- Maintain fault and delay sheet for start/finish times, vessel delays, yard delays, Crane breakdowns etc
- Assist on the quayside when Out of Gauge containers, break-bulk cargo are handled.
- Liaise with ships duty officer/vessel agent and updates the registration numbers of the loaded and discharged containers.
- Advise yard of any changes to planned container locations during loading and report any container damage not previously noted during operations.
- Monitor all reefer containers are disconnected prior to discharging.
- Advise Crane Operators and Labour Supervisor of sequence of container bays to be worked.
- Ensure all hatch cover locking pins and lashing materials are removed prior to discharging hatch covers.
- Processes and monitors the inbound and outbound containers and cargo traffic for the Container Terminal, in accordance with the rules, regulations and procedures.
- Processes and checks container/cargo related documentation, such as acceptance letter from the shipping line, custom declaration, delivery order and all information about the container.

Job Title: Planner

Location: Nigeria
Key responsibilities
- This position is within the Operations Department
- Control yard space allocation by service, nominated vessel, POD, equipment type, special handling (i.ehazardous, out-of-gauge, temperature controlled etc.) for empty and loaded equipment.
- Monitor and fine-tune the terminal operating system in order to ensure that yard planning is satisfactory and meets the strategy requirements.
- Prepare the 'yard work plan' on a daily basis and communicate to relevant persons where the equipment has to be located.
- Prepare the work flow related to housekeeping, empty movement, corrections etc.
- Report on a weekly basis to the Yard Strategist on the status of production, yard density, equipment utilization and strategy/allocation changes.
- Nominate empty equipment for shipment as directed by the concerned shipping line.
- Interact and communicate with vessel operators to ensure that berthing requests, production and productivity requirements are handled in a professional and efficient mannerMonitoring progress of operations and adjusting labor orders as needed.
- Create a master-berthing plan with ideal vessel placement positions.
- Forecast requirements based on input from the entire planning department regarding expected rates of production, planned gang deployment, current yard situation and connection requirements.
- Maintain service rotation and vessel call information in the terminal operating software
Requirements
- B.Sc or its equivalent with good grades
- At least two or more years’ experience in container terminal operations environment.
- A prominent level of planning and organizational skills.
- In depth knowledge of berthing ships, control and traffic of vessel movements, re-berthing positioning of vessels, and marine berth handlings.
- In depth knowledge of planning manpower & equipment and in-depth knowledge of berth planning process, yard lay-out and operating techniques.
- Ability to anticipate and manage problems.
