We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Director of Finance and Administration
Location: Kano

Summary
- EAI is preparing for the USAID/Nigeria Community Initiatives to Promote Peace (CIPP), a five year, $15 million conflict management and mitigation activity that will strengthen inter-faith, inter-ethnic, and other local conflict mitigation networks to support and promote peaceful coexistence, good governance and religious freedoms in targeted communities in six focus states of Northern Nigeria, including building the capacity of state and local governments to assist communities in mitigating violent conflict and preventing violent extremism.
- CIPP will coordinate with USAID/Nigeria’s relevant health, basic education, and economic growth activities. This project is anticipated to be awarded by February 2019.
Position
- The Director of Finance and Administration oversees program operations, including but not limited to human resources, logistics, procurement, sub-contracts or sub-awards, and accounting/finance.
- S/he will develop internal control measures, conduct internal financial audits, and coordinate all external financial audits.
- S/he will prepare budgets for annual work plans and financial reports for USAID.
- S/he will also build financial management capacity of all relevant staff and sub-awardees.
Reporting & Supervision:
- The Director of Finance and Administration will report to the Chief of Party.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- An ACA/ACCA/CPA or other recognized professional accounting qualification.
- At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or business management, including at least three (3) years of post-qualification experience as an auditor with a recognized public or private firm or as a finance manager with a reputable civil society organization or donor agency.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage large budgets, and an in-depth knowledge of USG Cost Accounting Standards.
- Progressively responsible experience supervising project operations, including human resources, procurement, and sub-contracts or sub-awards.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and English oral and written communication skills; demonstrated supervisory skills; and ability to work well on a team.
- Previous experience in building or enhancing civil society organizations financial management capacity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., and the ability to use various commercially available accounting software programs.

Summary

Position
- The Chief of Party (COP) will provide overall leadership, management and general technical direction of the activity, ensuring an integrated approach to achieving project results.
- The COP shall be the principal point of contact in Nigeria for procedural and substantive matters, including technical matters.
- S/he shall coordinate and ultimately be responsible for management and implementation of the activity.
- S/he shall also be responsible for ensuring quality control and the overall responsiveness of technical assistance provided under the award. S/he will be expected to proactively identify issues and risks related to activity implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate adjustments.
Reporting & Supervision:
- The Chief of Party will report to a Project Director based in Washington, DC.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Law, Development Studies, etc. or a Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant international development experience can be substituted for a Master’s degree.
- At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the successful implementation of international development activities, with preference given to conflict mitigation and/or violent extremism prevention programs – at least five (5) years of which must be in senior program management, including direct supervision of professional and support staff.
- Experience working in the conflict mitigation/preventing violent extremism sector in Africa is essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and communicate his/her vision to partners and colleagues.
- Proven experience navigating complex and high-pressure operating environments.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain interpersonal and professional relationships with different donors, civil society organizations, and host country government counterparts.
General Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in one of the above stated technical fields; At least 5 years relevant experience; experience working on donor-funded programs, particularly USAID, is preferred; good communication skills and positive work ethic; English language skills required.

Summary

- The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will support the COP in the management and general technical direction of the activity, ensuring an integrated approach to achieving project results. S/he acts as the COP and serves as the principle point of contact in Nigeria for procedural and substantive matters in the absence of the COP. The DCOP will be responsible for all day-to-day technical activities and implementation of the activity.
Reporting & Supervision:
- The Deputy Chief of Party will report to the Chief of Party.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Law, Development Studies, etc. or five years of relevant international development experience in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the successful implementation of international development activities, with preference given to conflict mitigation and/or violent extremism prevention programs – at least three (3) years of which must be in senior program management, including direct supervision of professional and support staff.
- Prior experience in awarding and managing sub-grants to local organizations to promote conflict mitigation, violent extremism prevention, and/or democracy and governance goals.
- Experience working in the conflict mitigation/preventing violent extremism sector in Africa.

The Position
- The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer provides strategic guidance, vision and management for successful monitoring and evaluation of the program.
- This individual also supervises MEL staff and ensures the strategic and functional integration of all MEL activities as well as active collaboration with sub-awardees and USAID.
- The Officer oversees all MEL activities, provides technical direction and support, and ensures the accurate reporting of results for program activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following or related fields: Social Science, International Development, Evaluation Research, Statistics or Economics.
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in designing, managing and implementing results-based MEL activities.
- Demonstrated relevant technical skills in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, with excellent organizational as well as English oral and written communication skills.
- Progressively responsible experience in monitoring and evaluation of conflict mitigation, preventing violent extremism, and/or democracy and governance programs, including working with development agencies and organizations, government officials, civil society leaders, community leaders, program beneficiaries and program staff.
- Extensive knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, guidelines and tools for monitoring, evaluation, and learning, including impact evaluation.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills, and ability to work well on a team.
General Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in one of the above stated technical fields;
- At least 5 years relevant experience; experience working on donor-funded programs, particularly USAID, is preferred;
- Good communication skills and positive work ethic;
- English language skills required.
