Job Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Nature of Employment: Full Time-Projects
Duration: One (1) Year
Reporting Line: Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.
Position Background
The M&E Officer will, under the supervision of the Senior M&E officer, evaluate the results of training interventions; initialize, manage and implement the M&E system for training; ensure all evaluation instruments/methodologies are correctly administered to obtain quality data, produce written evaluation reports providing clear and concise information on training results in a format and style that is easily and readily available for use.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the MEL Specialist in the plan and implementation of MEL activities.
- Ensure high-quality data are available when needed for programmatic decision making.
- Manage the information-gathering process for results and performance reports.
- Support in Adapting and maintain a high-quality database for the project.
- Contribute to work plans, budgets and technical reports and deliverables.
- Monitor project performance against targets and prepare periodic reports on M&E activities.
- Participate in project assessments, evaluations, design and development of survey protocols.
- Support implementation of program evaluations, baseline and end line assessments.
- Promote learning and assist state team on documenting and implementing lessons.
- Support the elaboration of success stories and case studies based on intended audience.
- Any other task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Position Requirements
- Degree in Statistics, Demography, Mathematics or any other relevant discipline.
- Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in conducting assessments, surveys, data management and analysis.
- Fluency in spoken and written English highly desired, Medium level required
- Must have 3+ years of general work experience, and 2+ years of NGO M&E experience
- Advanced knowledge of Spoken and Written English desired.

- AUN is seeking a motivated Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor in Communication & Media Studies in the department of Communication & Multimedia Design (CMD) who will be responsible for and contribute towards preparing students to be applied, critical thinkers and problem solvers through innovative teaching, research, and community service as may be requested by the Dean.
- S/he will contribute to the department’s administration and work closely with the Chair and Dean of the school in formulating and implementing course structures that would translate to effective teaching and learning of courses in line with the development philosophy of the American University of Nigeria, while also carrying out and disseminating high quality research and community services.
Person Specification
Essential:
- PhD in Communication & Multimedia Designor related discipline.
- Expertise in one or more of the following broad areas as detailed items: a) New Media and Multimedia Design b) Film, and Radio, Television and Digital Broadcasting c) Public Relations and Advertising d) Journalism, Media and Communication Studies
- Experience of teaching new media/communication studies courses with practicum components at a reputable higher education.
- An outstanding record of teaching and experience in problem-centered approach to teaching and learning in higher education
- An outstanding record of research and publications in peer-reviewed journals as commensurate with career stage.
- Experience in American Style of higher education
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required. The right candidate must have a strong command of English language
Desirable:
- Experience of working in Africa
- Experience of using learning technologies and educational platforms such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc
- Experience of curriculum development
- Experience of organizing conferences and workshops

- AUN is seeking a motivated Radio, Television and Multimedia Studios Custodian who will have custodial responsibilities for all the equipment and facilities in the radio, television and multimedia design studios of its Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) program. The position holder will keep up to date records and inventory of all equipment and facilities in the studios, and monitor their use by faculty, staff and students at all times. The incumbent shall also ensure the safety and security of equipment at each of the facilities and ensure that the usage of the facilities by students, faculty and staff is in accordance with the University’s laboratory standard operating procedures. The position holder is also expected to carry out any other responsibilities as may be assigned by Multimedia Design Course Instructors or Program Chair.
Qualifications, Experience and other Requirements
- A good bachelor’s degree/HND or National Diploma (ND) in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Electronics, or related subjects
- At least 2 years’ experience in similar capacity or related responsibilities

- AUN is seeking a motivated Graphic Artist and Multimedia Design Specialist who will be responsible for producing infographics, creative and technical illustrations, graphics and visual materials for academic and marketing purposes. The duties shall include but not limited to working closely with the technical team in Communications and Multimedia Design (CMD) program and Communications & PR Office to create and manipulate graphic images using graphic design software packages (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) within the AUN style guidelines.
- The position holder may be assigned teaching assistantship responsibilities to help guide Multimedia Design students with their practical graphic and multimedia design work. The incumbent shall also ensure the safety and security of equipment at the CMD Multimedia Design lab and studios and ensure that the usage of these labs and studios by students is in accordance with the University’s laboratory standard operating procedures. The position holder is also expected to contribute to the department’s administration and carry out any other responsibilities as may be assigned by Multimedia Design Course Instructors or Program Chair.
Qualifications, Experience and other Requirements for the position
- A good Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Fine Arts, Media Studies or related field from recognized tertiary institution
- Three to five years post NYSC experience in Graphic Design, preferably on multimedia infographics and/or technical illustration/graphics
- Strong visual communicator with a sharp sense of design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow strict AUN brand guidelines
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with careful attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines
- Self-motivated, organized, and accountable
- Ability to meet quick deadlines
- Strong experience of Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop
- Strong knowledge of Mac packages
