Action Against Hunger (Action Contre la Faim - ACF) began operations in Nigeria in 2010 in response to the high rate of chronic malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, focusing on integrated programming and looking at the Nutrition for children, pregnant and lactating mothers. In 2011, we expanded our work to begin implementing nutrition development projects in Jigawa and in Yobe. Following the crises in Northeast Nigeria, we further expanded our operations in Borno State in 2014 in response to the crisis to address the Nutrition, Health, Food security & livelihoods, WASH, and shelter needs of conflict-affected communities. We are operational in 11 Local Government Areas of Borno, 12 in Yobe, and 3 in Jigawa.
The mission has over 600 staff including over 40 international employees. There are three base offices: Damaturu, Maiduguri, Dutse, and four sub-bases including Monguno, Potiskum, Bade, and Damasak.

Job Title: Nutrition and Health Sector Manager

Job Description
- Action Against Hunger Nigeria Mission is recruiting a Nutrition and Health Sector Manager who will support the implementation and management of Planned Health and Nutrition activities, Reporting of activities according to AAH and donors expectations, Representation and communication
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the short and long-range plans for delivery of project services, provide guidance to AAH’s Nutrition and Health staff in the management of project interventions or activities for effective project impact.
- Continuously monitor and supervise nutrition and health activities.
- Ensure projects are implemented in line with donor requirements and in accordance with AAH, country, and international standards i.e. SPHERE and HAP standards.
- Represent AAH in the LGA health and Nutrition Sector meeting.
- Work with the project team to develop an overall detailed project implementation plan for nutrition and health component in line with a predefined project implementation work plan.
- Manage the assigned Nutrition and Health project interventions in order to meet the project objectives within budget and the allotted time frame and report any operational concerns promptly.
- Communicate clearly to partners in the sector clearly of the AAH plan and strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Nutrition / Nursing or Medicine or Public Health, a certificate in project management for development professionals will be an added advantage.
- 3 years’ experience in primary health care and maternal health.
- Great team management skill
- Ability to work in an insecure environment with little or no social amenities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Great communication and report writing skills
- Previous INGO experience
- Experience with donor-funded programs
- 2 years’ experience in CMAM and IYCF program.
- Previous experience in a managerial role is preferred
- A self-starter with excellent team management.
- Project management abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments.
Remuneration
- Minimum Basic Salary: NGN 308.589 per month

Job Description
- Action Against Hunger Nigeria Mission is looking for a Senior Project Manager who will be in charge of the proper implementation and completion of complex humanitarian emergency response project implemented over several geographical locations throughout all its different phases as well as the appropriate management of its specific scope, schedule, resources, quality, risks, representation, coordination, staffing, reporting, and contractual requirements.
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent team management and project management abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient, effective, quality, and timely implementation of the entire project
- Finalize, manage, and implementation of the detailed Project Implementation Plan (PIP);
- Develop a detailed monthly/weekly implementation plan for your staff in order to achieve the activities in the PIP;
- Finalize and manage the Project Scope Documents (PSDs) such as Project Procurement Plan, monitoring, and evaluation plan, Work Breakdown Structure, etc. as well as ensuring regular update of these documents in order to maintain a strong record of the Project;
- Identify need-based training and work with the HR team to develop, plan, and implement relevant training plans for each team member.
- Facilitate cross-program learning through joint review and planning with other departments
- Maintain comprehensive records And report In A timely manner
- Assist In wider organizational development through learning and proposal
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, Public Health, Health / Nutrition, Development or other related fields
- Proven multisector project cycle management experience at a senior level for at least 4 years in an INGO;
- Excellent management, organizational, motivational, and leadership skills;
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and preparation of budgets for programming;
- Familiarity with OFDA and/or DfID reporting and regulations;
- Experience in managing medium to large-sized teams;
- Strong experience in multisector emergency responses and sector coordination
- Experience and flexibility with complex/large organizational structures;
- Good knowledge of the humanitarian architecture and transformative agenda
- Demonstrated experience in proposal writing and donor reporting
- Good diplomatic and negotiation skills;

- Action Against Hunger Nigeria Mission is looking for a Project Manager who will be in charge of the proper implementation and completion of Project throughout all its different phases as well as the appropriate management of its specific scope, schedule, resources, quality, risks, representation, coordination, and contractual requirements.
- The Project Manager will be based in Damasak with travels to Maiduguri and other field locations as deemed necessary.
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent team management and project management abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
- Finalize and manage the Project Scope Documents (PSDs) such as Project Procurement plan, Monitoring and evaluation plan, Work Breakdown Structure, etc. as well as ensuring regular update of these documents in order to maintain a strong record of the project(s);
- With the support of the relevant technical team, develop, document, and work as per designs, BoQs, tools, implementation modalities, and guidelines
- Ensure contractual activities are completed on time, within budget, and with acceptable quality.
- Ensure that the project(s) is being implemented as per donor regulations;
- Take overall responsibility for the quality of the project(s) including regular monitoring, field visits, and learning;
- Manage and develop the Project Team
- Ensure that all project staff are provided with a full induction and are briefed on all relevant components of the project;
- Keep staff aware of any changes in the project(s) and in the wider organization;
- Ensure staff are aware of and operating by humanitarian principles and other codes of conduct;
- Develop a data collection and entry plan complete with tools and timeline that is integrated into the PSDs and PIPs (if not already included) in line with the Mission M&E structure and strategy.;
- Globally manage and monitor data collection and entry as per plan; in collaboration with the M&E team.
- Support the Field Manager in liaising regularly with authorities and community representatives in relations to AAH programming and positioning;
- Represent AAH programs when and if necessary vis-a-vis donors during their field visits and other meetings;
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in project management, social sciences, health planning & management, public health, nutrition, development studies, or other related fields with more than 2 years’ experience.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in multi-sectorial project management can also apply
- Proven project cycle management experience at a senior level for at least 2 years in an INGO;
- Excellent management, organizational, motivational, and leadership skills;
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and preparation of budgets for programming;
- Experience in managing medium to large-sized teams;
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Proficient in MS Office Applications;
- Problem management capacity;
- Planning and analysis capacity;
- Ability to work under pressure;
