Job Description
- To Plan, manage and implement Country Security Operations, and support Management in all security aspects for Nigeria, ensuring compliance with Group Security policies.
- To provide information and advice to Head of Security in country, Business Heads, Regional Managers, Branch Managers and other stake holders on security matters.
- To assist the Head of security in implementing and coordinating Group security policies and standards in SCBN locations (Access control measures)
- To participate in the planning and the implementation of security awareness training programs for staff members across locations in Lagos hub.
- To establish a reasonable liaison with law enforcement agents in all SCBN branch locations.
- To work with the regional supervisors in scheduling and supervising bank guards in all branches across the SCBN network.
- To continuously monitor performance of security equipments, maintain data of performance/failure and ensure timely reporting of all equipment failure to CRES (Corporate Real Estate Services).
- To maintain a data of security reviews and prepare a bi-monthly report on the state of security across SCBN network
- To conduct security risk assessment in Lagos SCBN branches, ensuring that threats to bank assets are identified and reported to the Head of Security.
- To monitor threats in the country and develop a data of security incidents to enable the Head of security generate security updates to CORG (Country Operations Risk Group), FORG (Finance Operations Risk Group) and Risk Review Committee.
Job Roles & Responsibilities1.) Policy:
- Provide specialist support for the business units.
- Dispense advice to the Head of CRES Nigeria on security and promote awareness to all staff.
- Participate/Support in the planning and implementation of security awareness training programmes for the country.
- Provide Travel advisory to SCBN and in coming visitors.
- Monitor Threats in the country and pro-actively make appropriate reports and recommendation to manage the risks.
- Organize security reports and returns for Country and Businesses and forward same to Regional Head of Security.
- Share security best practices with HCRES and Business Heads
2.) Protective Security:
- Strictly apply and implement Group Security policies and standards.
- Implement security risk assessment and review programmes, ensuring timely identification of threats and development of cost-effective security counter measures to both people and property.
- Publish, implement and maintain contingency plans for both threats, robbery, kidnap and other emergency situations that are likely to affect the Country or Business.
- Continuously monitor performance of all SCBN Security Equipments and Assets and report without delay any noted defect highlighting the security risk associated with that.
- Prepare a monthly report on state of security in all regions where we maintain branches (These include state of equipment, prevailing crime situation and mitigation plans).
- Maintain a data for security reviews and performance of CCTV, ACCESS CONTROLS, ALARM SYSTEMS, etc in all branches.
- Provide advice to Premises Department on requirements and specifications for building security systems including access control, intruder alarms, close circuit television and contract guards. Provide security advice to Project Team members in the planning of all refurbishment and new premises to ensure security policy is not undermined.
- Carry out periodic, surprise checks on all contract security guards and government armed security within Lagos branches, sensitize them and compile reports of such checks and all noted risks to Country Security Manager for direction and quick intervention and closure.
Qualifications / Skills- First Degree in Social Science.
- Professional certification in Security will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience at supervisory level
