Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and innovative Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions that support our business objectives.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud architecture, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring security, scalability, and cost-efficiency in our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Deployment:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Automate deployment processes and improve system scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align cloud solutions with business goals.

 Security & Compliance:

  • Implement robust security practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in cloud systems.
  • Conduct regular audits and updates to maintain security and compliance.

 Cloud Maintenance & Optimization:

  • Monitor cloud systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cloud resource utilization and reduce costs.
  • Ensure adherence to disaster recovery plans and data backup protocols.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achieve a cloud infrastructure uptime and availability of at least 99.99% on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain a successful deployment rate of 95% or higher, measured quarterly.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with cloud security policies for all cloud resources, measured quarterly.
  • Achieve a year-over-year reduction of at least 15% in cloud costs through optimization strategies.
  • Ensure an average Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) of less than 2 hours for cloud infrastructure issues, measured monthly.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Azure, AWS and/or GCP Certification

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing (AWS and Azure)

Technical Skills:

  • Cloud Computing Platforms - Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) administration, provisioning, configuration, and performance monitoring.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Azure Resource Manager (ARM), AWS CloudFormation, and scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
  • Cloud Security and Compliance - Access controls, policy governance, data protection, and backup solutions.

Cloud Architecture and Design:

  • Designing Highly Available Solutions - creating multi-region, scalable, and secure cloud architectures.
  • Cloud Migration and Deployment - Migrating infrastructure and applications to cloud-based solutions.

DevOps and Agility:

  • Agile Development Methodologies - Scrum, Kanban, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Automated Deployments - Scripting and automating infrastructure deployments using Bash, PowerShell, and Python.

Soft Skills:
Effective Communication:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating technical information to customers.

Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:

  • Resolving technical issues and participating in on-call rotations.

Working Knowledge:

  • Cloud adoption and transformation
  • Operational standards and process improvement
  • IT service management frameworks (ITIL)
  • Customer SLA management and communication.

Salary
N400,000 - N500,000 Monthly.
