Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our team of construction professionals in Lagos.
- As a Civil Engineer, you will play a vital role in the planning, design, and execution of our construction projects, ranging from complex large-scale developments to smaller residential and commercial builds.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct site evaluations, surveys, and feasibility studies to assess project viability and potential challenges.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications for construction projects, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective and sustainable construction solutions.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to identify and address any issues or deviations from plans.
- Prepare project reports, documentation, and presentations to keep clients and stakeholders informed of progress and milestones.
- Continuously explore and implement innovative construction techniques, materials, and technologies to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
- Oversee and coordinate the construction process, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Manage and supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering and construction projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Nigerian building codes, regulations, and construction standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A valid professional engineering license or certification in Nigeria is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and construction project management tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ability to develop and execute project plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly to team members, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
- Effective interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams and resolving issues.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to identify, assess, and address challenges that may arise during construction projects.
- A team-oriented mindset to collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with construction management software and project planning, scheduling, and documentation tools.
- Ability to ensure projects comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Decision-making skills to make informed choices that align with project goals and timelines.
- Attention to detail to ensure that construction projects meet quality standards and specifications.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Ability to enforce safety protocols and create a safe working environment on construction sites.
