Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: Ajao Estate, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Strategic Planning ad collaboration with the CEO and other senior executives to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Provide input on long-term business strategy, operational initiatives, and expansion opportunities.
  • Coordinating executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies based on their schedules
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor operational performance and track progress towards goals.
  • Coordinate decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity
  • Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and partners to optimize the supply chain and ensure timely delivery of goods. Implement best practices in procurement, distribution, and logistics to enhance efficiency and minimize lead times.
  • Develop and build on relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations, and help define new operational strategies by working with CEO and other executives on special projects
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulatory agencies. Serve as a key point of contact for operational inquiries and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Oversee daily operations in collaboration with senior managers and department leaders, and perform administrative tasks such as managing calendars, generating correspondence, maintaining hard copies and electronic files, planning and coordinating annual corporate meetings, and scheduling facilities
  • Attending meetings on behalf of the CEO (in any capacity)
  • Overseeing strategic business initiatives from ideation to implementation
  • Providing insights and analysis on the company’s operations
  • Providing support and oversight for special projects and initiatives
  • Identifying and solving core problems or opportunities within business processes
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement measures to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
  • Handle requests and queries appropriately

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of logistics principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and achieve operational excellence.
  • Candidate within and around its environs will be prioritized.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing operations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
